Since Sony didn't include any IR connectivity in the PS3 everyone has been looking for a solution to integrate the PS3 into their home media centres. Coupled with a harmoney remote, this finally solved the problem.
I had one of these shipped from the US and it works great. I personally think it is much better than the other IR2BT, IR4PS3 and other solutions out there. It may be a bit pricey, but its worth it to have one remote control my TV, DVD recorder, 360, hifi surround, sky and now PS3 (I have the harmony one remote).
I also have playTV on my PS3, and it also works fine with that, exactly like using the standard PS3 media remote.
Its just a little black box, but the conveniece of now having one remote instead of two is well for the price.
I've been waiting for play to release this for along time since I baught the Harmony one last spring it's a very simple unit that does exactly what it needs to do i'm having an issue with it turning my ps3 on everytime i turn on my wall sockets though :/ but I think thats a settings error other than that great product :)
Got this to pair with my Harmony 895. Easy to setup and works perfectly.
I thought there would be a bit of lag between button presses for the conversion from IR to Bluetooth but there appears to be none.
Finally I can switch off the PS3 with one button.
