  A truly brilliant remote

I have had mine for about a week now and am still dead impressed with it. The build quality is top notch, is full of nice touches like the lighting up at night, being motion activated, touch screen & boot up time etc....

I have not tried Logitech's Customer service with the remote, but having used them with a previous mouse found them incredibly helpful and they couldn't have treated me any better.

A proper boys toy even the wife will be pleased you've got!

Simply Didn't Work - Product As Bad As The Support Line

I bought this for the single reason that it supposedly had RF capability and would be able to 'see through' the ultra expensive cabinetry of my AV wall tot he DVD player, satelitte box and PS3 (I also bought the PS3 add on as well) , leaving no visible cables or receptor units. After registering the product on-line and adding in all my aplliance details such as make, model and ports connecting which item to which item (about an hour of work) I tested the remote.....very disappointed. From a distance of just 6 feet the remote could not turn on the TV unless I left the cabinet doors open where it could 'see' the RF sensors that convert the RF remote signal to IR - which utterly defeats the purpose of buying this VERY expensive bit of kit. I ran through the remotes trouble shooting guide at least 4 dozen times, de-registered the item, re-registered it (twie), ran through the whole set-up (twie) and...same thing.

Now to the Support Line. When you register a problem with Logitech you get an email saying they will call you within 24 hours. I sent 3 emails and never received a call. What I got was an automated email response from them saying....go through the trouble shooting guide. Gee, thanks! Two lengthy complaint emails later.....nothing....oh expect an automated email response saying that as my support call had been open for more than 72hrs it would now be automatically closed. Thanks again, quite literally...for nothing.

I sent the product back for a full refund which is the only good thing that I can say about this experince because Logitech are not going to give me back the 6 hours I spent on this duff product. I can't see me being tempted to buy another one of their products. It's a shame because I can't find another RF universal remote anywhere on-line. Seems to me that the technology is so undeveloped that no-one has bothered yet....Logitech should have followed suit.

I would give this product 0 stars if it was posible and Logitech's Support Line -5 stars.

Really pleased with purchase - excellent remote

I previously had a Logitech Harmony 885 and had been waiting for years for this remote to be released, a graet deal more so sine the Logitech Harmony One was introduced.

The reason for that was the RF functionality as it lets me keep all my cabinet doors closed and just have the TV on display and I couldn't justfy replacing the 885 with the 895 so was waiting for the next Harmony RF remote.

A bit dissapointingly the Harmony Remote software would not let me replace the 885 in my existing account with the 900 which meant I had to start from scratch in setting everything up. No explanation was provided for this and I would have thought it should be possible for Logitech to allow users to replace the existing remote in such situations utilising the existing account's set-up.

Using the remote is a breeze once set up however and I am glad that logitech has included hard buttons for the red button etc which the One lacked. Using Sky these are essential and having these only available on the touch screen would have made using the remote annoying (and would have probably meant I would not have purchased it).

The remote feels really solid in the hand and is a step up in build quality over the 885. Most importantly it does not have the issues that plague many 885 and 895 users of the remote not charging in its dock.

All in all I would definitely recommend the remote but only if the RF functionality is something you require. Otherwise the premium over the Logitech One is a bit much just to get hard buttons for the red button, etc.
