Grundig GUDB20USB3 Digital Freeview Set Top Box / 3 x USB Record Function

I bought this item because of the digital switch over. The reason i choose this one in particular was the recording facility. I really liked the idea of being able to record on memory stick and then watching it on my Playstation, X-Box 360, MacBook or PC.

I would also like to mention that you will need a stick larger than 1GB. I tried to record Doctor Who (50Minutes long) and it would not record on a 1GB stick. I ended up recording it in a Play.com 8GB stick with no problems.

It does the the job! It does freeze occasionally as another reviewer pointed out but it's just a case of unplugging ithe power cable and plugging it back in to unfreeze it. I find it most effective to record onto 8gb high speed flash drives. I can then quickly and easily move the recording across to my pc. It would be even better if it had a twin tuner but for the price I can't really complain! (I paid 39.95 when Play had an offer on) :)

Occasionally my box locks during a recording. I'm using a 16Gb Play.com own-brand stick. I'm wondering if it's not quick enough.

Having just had a run of bad luck and going through 3 different HDD freeview recorders in 6 months I bought this grundig. It works brilliantly with my 500gb external drive and various usb sticks Very handy for recording stuff to watch on notebooks/netbooks via a usb stick. Simple and functional if not very beautiful.
