I took the risk of ordering this tv without seeing it first because it is still not available in shops, & I have to say that I don't regret my decision at all. Firstly the tv looks stunning, it is incredibly thin & probably one of the best looking lcd's I have seen.
The one negative to mention about the tv is the sound quality. While not being too bad at high volume, a constant fuzzing noise can be heard in the background when listening at low volume which is very annoying - I solved this by buying a 2.1 speaker system. I actually got LG out to look at mine after already sending it back once & they confirmed that this was normal, the technician told me that LG concentrate on the picture quality rather than sound, & this is not a lie as the picture is stunning.
The picture on this tv is simply the best picture I have ever seen on any lcd tv - I have not seen a better standard definition picture on any other hd tv. As well as brilliant SD performance, high definition programs are awesome, plus it also has many different preset picture settings depending on what you're watching (standard, natural, vivid, sport, cinema, game) which come in very handy.
I definitely think the strength of this tv is playing very colourful hd programs such as animated films - I have played 720p versions of 'Up' & 'Ice Age 3' in vivid mode which simply blew me away.
Another small negative a will mention about the tv is that it doesn't have a very wide viewing angle. The picture is awesome when positioned directly in front of the tv, but is more grey when viewing from a sharp angle. Therefore I would say the tv is probably more suitable for a bedroom rather than a room with many people viewing from different angles.
Overall if picture quality is what you want then this has to be one of the best tv's available, sound is not great but don't let this put you off because the picture really is stunning (plus you can correct the sound with some cheap speakers).
Hope this was helpful.
