Sony CMT MX550i / iPod HiFi Speaker Dock Stereo System

I bought this just under a week ago, very impressed with play.com for there very fast shipping (next day). Took the stereo out of its compact box and unwrapped it from its protective packaging to find that the stereo looked even better than on its online preview. Very sleek retro lines with a solid build quality. Took me 10 mins to set this up from opening the box to getting music and docking my iphone with the included adapters. All features work well with excellent sound quality from such a compact system. The Bass is what really impressed me as there is no distorted sounds even at max. Only thing i can really pick out on this stereo as a minor issue is that when you want to close the ipod docking door there is a little clip on the inside of the door that you need to pull towards you before you can do this.
With mp3 playback via cd, usb,iphone,ipod and fm/dab/dab+ and audio in there is always something to listen to.

I found the only previous review helpful. Bought this as a Christmas present and let me tell you the recipient is delighted with it. Sony in my opinion is always a safe bet and I am impressed with how the unit looks (sleek and compact). It was easy to set up including the radio channels and the sound is very good with cd/ipod& radio.

All this and I got it cheaper than advertised currently excluding the vat back sony scheme. Still good value at current price (one hundred and ninety pounds) and I think it looks far more expensive than it actually is. So much so I am now considering buying one for myself.

Sounds very good for the price. This is due to it's digital class amplifier. Connects easily to my i-pod and i-phone and an absolute bargain at it's current price. Bought one for myself elsewhere and now buying another from Play as a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law (Hope they don't read this review). Rich bass sounds and nice treble with all the mid range you could ask for in a unit at this price!!! With a full DAB radio to boot.
