Phonak Audéo Perfect Fit PFE 122 Earphones With Microphone / Black

Top marks to Phonak for producing such a high end IEM earphone for this price.

The sound quality rivals many of the big boys and walks all over the Sennheiser IE series and Bose in-ears. The PFE digs out all the detail in your music you are missing with inferior earphones.

Phonak have got the in-ear fit perfect with the PFE. The earphone just sits in your ear, with no wait on the ear canal. The over-ear cabling is very clever. I'd never heard of Phonak, but doing my research it seems they know a thing or two about the ear (over 60 years developing hearing aids).

The sound quality of the Phonak PFE 122 is exceptional, with loads of detail and accuracy. Bass response is on the light side with the fitted grey acoustic filters, but by swapping to the black acoustic filters it's more chunky. I've since upgraded to Phonak's new green acoustic filters and the bass is now powerful (in fact I'm not sure if I prefer green or black filters).

The PFE 122 is very nicely made, with a durable earphone body and robust cabling that has some kind of tough coating to protect it (according to posts on head-fi.org they recently revised the cabling).

If your upgrading from cheaper earphones (e.g. Sennheiser CX300) the sound quality will blow you away!

I spent a lot of time researching reviews and forums before purchasing the PFE 122, and can happily report that they are definitely worth the price. The sound is absolutely fantastic and they fit very comfortably (make sure to try the Comply Foam tips).

The acoustic filters let you customise the sound, which works well to tune them to suit your own musical taste.

These offer a great, well balanced, crystal clear sound. Bass response is really well defined (not boomy), with vocals and acoustic instruments sounding incredibly lifelike.

I've gradually been upgrading headphones over the last couple of years (starting out with a Sennheiser CX300) and the PFE is the best I've heard so far.

An earphone for the refined ear that is well worth the price!

I read the reviews of these before I bought them which made me feel these would be a decent purchace but unfortunately I was wrong. Firstly the fit is good especially with the gel ear guides, the foam tips fitted well but did rub a bit after 15mins or so but they really cut out the external sounds which I was pleasently surprised by but .........................the sound is just so flat....theres was no bass at all which I found a bit strange, I tried fitting the ear phones several times in slightly different positions and using the different tips/inserts but still had no joy, also they lack any warmth or richness of sound, I listen to a vast aray of music but could not find one that suited these headphones, they did however have a very clear treble sound, very crystal but this was totally overshadowed by the loss of bass and any real body. I was hoping these would be a good upgrade from y cx 300 sennheisers but although they cost a staggering 110 pounds less than these, they completely blew these out of the water. I sold them after a week and bought a pair of bose mei2s which are fantastic. Please do not waste your money on these

If your looking for a set of high quality earbuds look no further with what is possibly the most balanced and clear sound i've ever heard from any headphones, these are simply stunning for the price.

They are so comfortable that I wear them to bed at night, and don't even realise that i'm wearing them. The fit is so good, no pressure on the ear and unlike almost every other earbud i've worn my ears never feel tired which I usually suffer from a lot.

The sound quality is also top drawer, whilst lacking a bit of bass compared to some other headphones they more than make up for it by having a perfectly balanced and clear sound. I am not for one second saying that the bass is below par in these buds, merely that they are balanced so that the bass is never over-powering or getting in the way of anything in the mid range (my biggest complaint with most other earbuds) and it ends up giving you a wider audio spectrum to enjoy.

What I would say impressed me is just how versatile they are. I have a very broad pallet musically all the way from metal to classical stopping off in hip hop and a bit of dance as well. The Phonak buds sound fantastic with every style of music I throw at them most impressive is orchestral scores as the imaging is so strong you get such a grand scale in the audio.

If I had one bug bear it would be that they are quite quiet which is no problem when listening at home but if your in a crowded public place they could do with a touch more power.

All in all a product worth of praise the best headphones I've heard for anything like tihs kind of price (if you spend 3 times this they will be better but not by as much as you'd think) Simply put a fantastic set of earbuds, If mine ever do fail I will definatly be back for more of these.

ive had the cx300s , superfi 5 , klipsch s4......these are better by a long way......excellent in all 3 ranges..... best in ears ive ever had !!
