Sound quality are really good, currently using with foam tips for a deeper sound. Build quality is excellent as these are the longest lasting in ears i have owned, they even remained intact after a spin in the washing machine! Cable is great with no more tangles but only flaws as previous reviw mentioned are there are no extra filters supplied as advertised but you don't really need them But the only reason that it's not receiving a 5 star rating is that the volume seems limited, would of prefered if they could go slightly louder.

Good build quality. Customer support. A selection of ear pieces to choose from.

Muddy bass bias. Lack of detail and clarity for the price. Stiff plastic cable.

Let me first say, I spent a great deal of time trying to get the best in-ear fit. With in-ear phones the fit makes the difference between strong/weak bass and the clarity of the sound generally. I also tried them with several different sources. I really wanted to like them. However, after all my efforts they were disappointing. The whole sound had a bass bias which lead to it being muddy. There was at the same time a lack of deep bass low frequency sound. To add insult to injury there was a general lack of clarity. No amount of EQ adjustment seemed to help. The cable was stiff and noisy. The over ear fit was not particularly secure if exercising.

Compared to the Sennheiser CX95 they lacked light airiness and could not improve on lowest bass frequency output. The Sennheisers could produce greater clarity across the frequency spectrum. Compared to the Shure SE215, the Phonak could not reproduce frequencies as low as the Shure. The Shure also has a bass bias but not the lack of clarity of the Phonak. Adding treble to the Shure did bring out high end detail and airiness, this was not the case with the Phonak.

A generally disapointing sound at this price. There is a bass bias without the real low bass sounds and a general lack of clarity/space. The accessories are a little lacking at this price considering the very mediocre sound. In short, it would not be hard to find better phones for a lot less

I've always had problems getting earphones to stay in my ears... until now! After reading the 5 star review of the Phonak Audeo PFE 012 in Stuff magazine I did some more research and bought a pair.

The sound is very clear, with warm and they have well defined bass response (not over-cooked like Bose in-ears). The cabling is very well made (compared with my Sennheiser CX300-IIs) and the earphones feel of very high quality - you can tell Phonak have been making hearing aids for 60 years.

Best of all they fit my rather small ears very well and are comfortable to wear for many hours (including a transatlantic flight). I've since added some Comply Foam tips for an even more comfortable fit.

At last a pair of 'in ear' headphones that stay in your ears!! Don't know how they compare to others in this price range, but they are a huge step up from the standard sets that are usually packaged in with your iphone/ mp3 players etc. Very comfortable to wear, you almost forget that they are in! I have listened to everything from Pink Floyd to Frank Sinatra and the sound quality is excellent right across the spectrum. Only four stars becauase they do not come with the alternative filters as described in the 'pack contains' details.
