  Poor, cheap headphones

As I was logging in to review a previously brought item I thought I'd update you all, poor quality item, the plastic band shattered within a week of receiving, not worth the time or money purchasing.

Great looking but aweful sound and build quality

I have wanted a pair of Skullcandy headphones for a long time. I won't be buying them again. These headphones look great and are very comfortable. Sadly thats where the positives end, and for the stuff that really matters the headphones are very poor:

1) Sound quality is terrible. I saw other reviews saying sound wasn't too crisp etc but that doesn't come close, there is no treble at all and it sounds like you are listening through a door. Without some kind of equalizer where you can crank up the treble right up they are hopeless. I prefer my in ear phones that came free with my phone, and I HATE in ear head phones.

2) Build quality: Within 5 days of receiving the headphones the jack became faulty so that you have to bend it in a certain direction to get sound out of both sides. It has since gotten worse and there is no sound at all. The cable feels flimsy, more like pound land string, The whole setup doesn't feel very substantial...

I was hoping to get them replaced so I could see if I got a dud pair but am having difficulty with returns procedure, play website won't send the collection note properly... But my girlfriends pair (different model) broke just after mine with the same fault so I think I will try something else!

  Poor sound quality and build

Having seen these recommended on different sites I'd assumed they would be pretty good. Firstly the build isn't so great, the cable is flimsy and you can almost feel the jack is only going to last a dozen or so removals from your system. More importantly the sound quality is dire. I can't give less than 1 star but I would not by these headphones the time or day. All trousers and no mouth. Avoid this brand like the plague.

Stars for sound quality against price

boguht these headphones about a month ago when they were just a little over their current selling price, they are comfortable and the sound quality is brilliant for the price, totally worth the purchase if you're in to loud music with nice bass.

Only things I dislike are the size of the adjusters, they stick out quite a bit, the wire is rather thin and possibly easily breakable to those who don't take good care of their things and there's no adjustable volume on the headset itself.

lose wire. not durable. break easily.

bought these when they were 45pound from the actual skullcandy website ,and i must say i regret it! i've now had 3 pairs of skullcandy headphones and they have ALL broke in the same way. ive had two in ear ones were the wire came lose and the sound echo'ed and eventually i lost sound. However these headphones seem to last about two months but then when wearing them one day i noticed with both headphones on the sound was very echoey so i took them off played with the wire and they worked. but after playing with the wire stopped working i gave up and chucked them away. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND ANY SKULLCANDY HEADPHONES! as they are not durable enough.

  Poor Quality

These headphones, for the first few days worked fine, very good sound , very loud and comfortable as well, but they broke in 4 days, the jack moves in the socket and the sound come out horribly. Tried wrapping the jack in foil, this helps but still reduces the volume and it only plays out of one side. :( btw I used it with ipod touch, 3rd gen 32gb

  intermittent sound quality

Bought as a gift, received item and worked fine for aprox 2/3 weeks then sound quality became muffled and poor. Returned and received replacement. Upon opening sound quality was inconsistent and poor. It's annoying because when these headphones work they have AMAZING sound quality but they're just not reliable.

Seriously awesome sounding headphones! The bass is massive and the mids and highs are clear and distinct. My only problem is that they are too big, and they are sitting too low on my ears to be really comfy. Otherwise brilliant, really pleased :)

  Worked great, then broke

These headphones were brilliant, worked great, background noise was practically none existent!

About 1 week in I noticed the noise quality and loudness has reduced.

Finally 3 weeks later one of the headphones has stopped working, the only thing that stops it is messing with the wire just above the AUX input.

If they stayed at the same quality from the start this would be defo 5 stars, unfortunately only 2 because they now are pretty much useless.

I have had Sennheissers and Ultimate Ears (the latter definitely the better of the 2) I for a long time took the mickey out of my Skull candy wearing friend. I saw these as could not afford the Beats this month and having low funding took a chance. I have to say they are very good. Loud, clear and when messing with equalizer on my HTC Incredible S are an absolute treat. I would recommend to anyone and as they are black look decidedly cooler than the other choices. Give them a go because for 17.99 you cannot do any better in my opinion. NIIIICCEE!!
