I got this so my old mum would be able to record her Corrie come September.
As a Freeview box it is reasonably good and fairly easy to set up - the remote is a bit on the small side but works well with the plug in IR receiver placed somewhere convenient.
Picture quality is pretty much the same as other Freeview SD boxes I have seen - although the tuning was simple, it missed BBC3 and BBC4 because they weren't transmitting - needed to retune after 7pm.
The recording function will give 12 hours onto a 16Gig pen drive - I use a USB micro drive which is not much bigger than the USB plug itself.
Recording is simply a matter of pressing the record button on the remote to start recording the current channel, playback and program delete functions are a bit fiddly, but work well.
Timer recording works, but I can only get it to record ONCE - setting it to record DAILY just gets you one recording before the recorder resets itself to from DAILY to OFF.
TEXT button does nothing at all - but I can live with that.
For the money there is no contest - it beats PVR HDD boxes, which seem to start at around GBP 100 minimum.
