You get what you pay for!

I have only just purchased these so I cannot comment on their durability, only the sound quality. While generally comparable to the regular Apple earphones (pre-iPhone 5) I find the top end overly harsh and scratchy while the base is very muddy. My excellent sounding, but relatively pricey, Klipsch (S4i) earbuds unfortunately died, so I thought I would trade down as these things don't generally seem to last very long. That was almost definitely a mistake as I'm not sure how long I will be able to tolerate the noise that comes out of these things.

So, they only get three stars because if you are trading up from the regular Apple earphones they will probably sound okay, plus they are pretty cheap. But if you have experienced anything superior you'll most likely be pretty disappointed.

Update: Audio quality is improved a fair amount by changing the music EQ settings to 'deep'. The top end isn't so harsh. I usually steer clear of the iPhone EQ settings though!

  Worked well for a while

Had these earphones and were quite good for around 8-9 months until the left headphone stopped working with no warning.....

Stay clear

  Good but break very easily

I had these headphones for two months and i loved them but then they started to break..for example i could only hear out of one headphone and then i couldn't hear out of any headphone ...so i was really disappointed on how long they last.Being from sony i thought they were durable but seems not so.

good alternative to official apple headphones

For those, like myself, who need a bit more detail on the in built remote, the plus / minus buttons are for volume, the centre button (raised nub) works by single click for play / pause / answer call / hang up, double click for next track, triple click for previous track, press & hold for voice control / reject call.

microphone is a small hole on the back of the remote.

seems to work pretty much the same as the official apple headphones, and says in the documentation that they are apple approved. feels a bit lighter and therefore cheaper than the apple headphones, but the middle button's great, and the in ear sound quality is good, to be expected from sony.

Just received the headphones today and they are great. Very comfy and the sound quality is second to none. Much better than the ones supplied by Apple! and at a reasonable price too!!
