looks good out of the box, but no 4gb micro SDcard. Disapointed would be an understatement as this was a birthday gift for my wife.

wow! I got this today for valentines and I am so impressed. technically it is so easy to set up, a child could do it. downloading is so simple and the ebooks are quick to download (2 seconds). The touch screen is responsive but not over sensitive so you cant accidently turn the page. The screen loads instantly so you dont lose track of your reading. A truly fabulous gadget and the best present I have ever received! Theres hundreds of free ebooks to download too so if money is tight dont be put off. I cant recommend it enough, it really is that brilliant.

  Good alternative to Kindle

I bought this just before Xmas. The look and feel is very slick, the 'quilted' back is comfortable (it's rubber, just to avoid any confusion). Set up and configuration is very straight forward. The touch screen feature response time is pretty good, I experienced a little delay when searching the online store, but nonetheless I was quite impressed with it. In terms of page turns, response time/page refresh is very good. It has a slot to accept Micro SD cards, but for me the onboard storage should be enough. Battery life is great, I have charged it once in the last 30 days (it was half charged out of the box). There are some nice little features with Kobo as well, such as reading stats and awards, which all make for a pleasant device experience. The only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars is due to the lack of a mains charger (these can be bought separately). Otherwise, I'm very pleased.

I love my kobo.
I recieved this for christmas from my girlfriend and its one of the best things that I have had in the last year. I bought a few books from the store- which was really easy to use thanks to the touch screen and I cant put it down now. Its small enough to fit in my coat pocket so I can take it anywhere and its a really good looking device.
I actually seem to get lost in this more than I do with an actual book because you dont have to actually turn the page and can hold it in one hand.
I'm pleased that I have the touch screen version becasue not only is it a little smaller it makes the UI easier to navigate around. You can easily increase the font size just by dragging the slider up.
It also has the neat feature of syncing my bookmarks so if I dont have the kobo on me I can read where I left of on my iPhone app.
A great buy.
