First class product, great value for money

Worked straight from the box, minimal setup.
A minor concern is the lack of documentation about the various functions on the handset.
Due to the age of my TV i have not been able to use the hdmi cable or HD side of things, so all going via scart and absolutely fine.
No picture break up or pixelling so far even with a aerial wobbly in the breeze and a vast improvement on my 8 year old previous box. Even the scoreboard on final score looks sharper.
I'm in Chelmsford getting my signal from Crystal Palace and its fair to good on the signal strength monitor.

  Great

All I need to add about this box is it doesn't block the signal from soccer matches being shown on RTE or TV3 when the match is also broadcast on SKY. This box is all you need.

An absolute gem of an item. Easy to set up and produces great results. Ordered this on Monday and it was delivered to N.I the next day. Great service and a really good price.

Very pleased with this easy to use and set up. HD is great. The remote control is easily programmed so that you don't need the tv one (2 remotes are a nuisance!). Haven't checked out the iPlayer as the internet isn't wireless and I can't trail wires all over the house. Great price too.

What a neat bit of kit

So easy to set up, easy to use. What a lot for 30.pounds I only wanted it for the BBC IPlayer and it works beautifully. Looks good, shame its white and not black but hey so what.

Was wondering why Sky wanted to charge over 10 Great Britain Pounds (why can't we use the pounds sign???) per month for HD subs.. Before I committed myself, I bought one of these and now have a full HD receiver/picture after 2 years! The 4 x HD channels are exceptionally good and a vast improvement on SD. Not quite sure of the advantages of paying Sky for these 4 FREE channels (yes, they do have more on Sky) but do I really need them?? Not for now. Sorry Sky. The GUI is better than Sky and very slick. No reminders can be set :-( .. No recording to USB but it's 27 Great Britain Pounds what more do you want for this price? The installation was a 3 click affair and it was in full operation in 4 minutes including channel search. Sound is good and not tried the BBC iplayer yet. Five star based on performance versus price.

i-Can Easy HD 2851T Freeview HD Set Top Box with BBC iPlayer

Quick delivery and excellent freeview box. The built in Iplayer is excellent as good as the PS3 version. Also you can customise your channel list so you dont have to see all the top up tv channels and shopping.
The box does come with old firmware which caused network connection issues for me on iplayer but now upgraded via usb stick was quick and it keeps your config settings so no re setup necessary
just go to i-can.tv and get the upgrade 41mb download.

If you want freeview HD and iplayer then for the money this is the best.

Good HD but sub par SD picture quality

Ordered Thursday evening recieved Monday morning using free delivery so not bad. Setup went fine but the check software update informed me after 5 long mins of searching that I was up-to-date. I knew it wasn't as the website had a newer version. So I upgraded the firmware using the USB socket. On a 42" Panasonic Plasma the SD picture is noticablebly inferior to the TV's built in freeview reciever. The Channel logos have noticable blocky pixels so no form of image processing seems to be being used. The HD picture however is much better and thats what it was bought for. If you use this mainly as your only source for SD channels on a large screen then I wouldn't really recommend it. However as a source of HD content and iPlayer content its good value.

  Brilliant set top box

This STB has totally transformed the viewing experience on my very cheap LCD TV. The 4 terrestrial HD channels are vibrant and almost 3D in perspective. Even the normal SD channels are enhanced to the point of you notice it immediately. Sound quality is very good I do not have a cinema system yet so the surround facility is not in use. I will be linking this unit to the home network very soon, cant wait. The unit comes with power supply (nice touch that the power lead has a switch on it) no more having to reach around or under units to isolate it from the mains supply. Set up is fairly quick and a lot of information is shown on the TV screen while this is going on. The menu is great and navigation easy. I have only 2 very small niggles 1. The USB connector is for upgrading the software only. 2. There is a tendency for the subtitles to appear when you change channel, press the subtitle button twice and they are gone. As I said very small problems I can certainly live with. For under 30 squid this box is a gem and a steal. GO GET THIS BRILLIANT STB you're mad if you don't.

  ***** Star Buy *****

Bought this set-top box for my bedroom tv after a few months with no reception after the swtich-over. Had a look through all the reviews like you are now and said 'why not?'. Took three days to arrive and even though I paid nothing for standard delivery it was sent to me by special delivery. The box itself is a star buy. In an older review I think it says you get know sound or picture when you look at the EPG but I haven't had this problem.

Recommend even if you don't have a HD tv. Warning: Doesn't come with a scart lead
