I have hundreds of slides, and have tried scanning them with an Epson scanner with slide attachment. It's very slow and the results were never very good. This device is easy enough to use, though a bit fiddly, and it scans the slides (and negative) really well. It produces large size scans, and can scan to jpg or tiff formats. No hesitation in recommending it.
This product arrived on time (as always with Play.com), as a gift for my parents. They were unable to use it as their Norton anti-Virus software detected a Trojan virus on the software installation disc. Looking on-line, it seems this is not an isolated case.
The product may be good (who knows? didn't get that far), but issuing a software installation disc with a virus on is not a recommended way to get repeat business.
One good thing - Play.com returns policy is excellent!
