iPod Nano Car Trip FM Transmitter

I've found this to be a really useful product. It seems to be reasonably sturdy and it does the job of charging & transmitting music perfectly. Unfortunately the problem with transmitters is that you may get interference from radio stations if they are using the same frequency, however the frequency can be quickly changed with the 2 buttons next to the LCD screen. It does jut out of the cigarette lighter socket a fair way, so it might be an issue if your lighter is right next to your gear stick (it's fine with my Corsa though). It is designed for use with an iPod Nano with a silicon 'skin' over the top, although it comes with a bit of padding to stick on the charger if you do not have one (to stop it moving/rattling slightly). The sound quality is pretty good, it sounds as if you are listening to music on a radio station (not quite CD quality but good enough). I haven't really come across any negative points yet, so it has to get 5 stars. Although this is a bit more expensive than some FM transmitters, the charging capability and the fact that you don't have to load it up with 2xAA batteries every now and again more than compensates!

Item delivered within two days. The good things about this item is that there's no trailing wires, it's a neat compact design and it charges your nano. OK every now and then you may need to retune it (depends where you live) but I do a round trip to and from work of 72 miles and did'nt have to re-tune it once. At the end of the day, it's £15 folks! Buy it and enjoy.

I recieved mine today, as always play.com deliver without fuss within 2-3days. So top marks. Anyway, this item is so simple, take out of the packaging, slot ipod in and plug it in the cigarette lighter which gives it power to display the radio frequency it will broadcast your tunes on, and also charges your ipod. I chose 89.5fm. The sound is clear, free from interference and sounds pretty good, i run a powerful amp and sub etc using 6 gauge cabling and the background 'noise' heard through the speakers is almost undetectable even when amplified. I bought this on the basis of the 30 other reviews and i'm very glad i did. Its amazingly simple, well designed and pretty faultless. I'm not sure what more you'd want from something as it does the job very well, and means i can just pop in my nano ipod and tune in, rather than lug around cases of minidiscs in the door pockets etc.
So my verdict is its totally recommended, and well worth the money. I'm very glad i bought one.

I have used this in both my car & my girlfriends for about the last 6 months & is still working perfectly. Great sound quality in her car . . . but not quite as good in mine. This is only because i have put a sub & new speakers in so it's alot more powerful than a normal car, therefore i wouldn't recomend if you have a custom sound system. The only other thing i would pick out is that the cradle it sits in has nothing to hold the ipod back so if it gets knocked it will loosen the fitting on the bottom and over time it may weaken and snap.

Overall, good, practical, easy to set up & use HOWEVER, do NOT buy if you have a bangin sound system

I have had this for a while - the pros are it is easy to use and you can easily flick between ipod and the radio and the sound is not bad either.
Cons - mine has never charged my ipod which is annoying as that was one of the reasons I bought it, also I too have difficulty changing gears and have caught my hand whilst trying to change gears, you can manouver it in such a way however where it does not get in the way by twisting it to the side.
