I bought this camera 9 months ago for £105, and it is one of the best bargains I have ever found. The features are fantastic and allow you to dip your toes tentatively into SLR territory, and if you need to take a quick picture, turn it to AUTO, and turn off the flash as I usually do and you've got a fantastic picture. The zoom is remarkable, and the quality if you can keep your hands still enough is just as good as macro (close ups), which this camera also obviously has a setting for.
It is fairly robust, you can't drop it in the sea, but I've used it on a boat trip with a few splashes and sprays and in dusty conditions, and it still works amazingly.
With regards to battery life which someone docked marks for when the camera doesn't have an inbuilt battery (like blaming your petrol car for not working when you fill it with diesel!), get some rechargables with at least 2500mah, I bought the Encore brand from Play, and on my Italy trip got over 500 shots per charge, which I find astounding. I did originally rely on £1 shop specials, but just because they're the same shape, they hold nowhere near as much power.
Finally, get a case. The Fuji one is about £10-£15, and some people complain it won't fit - rubbish, it's a fantastic snug fit, and I hold 4 spare fully charged batteries at the bottom and 3 memory cards in cases in the side pocket.

If you find this camera for anywhere near £100, buy it, if it's less, buy 2.

Brilliant camera, love using the predefined picture setting.
Has presets that are very easy to use especially with the
larger lcd display which is very handy.

I've had mine since christmas now (6 months) and have found it just gets better and better. To begin with it takes superb pictures , simply with little fuss, but once you have taken the time time to read through the (substantial) manual, it really begins to shine. This camera is packed with features, even having built in effects and a full video funtion. I love it.

Great camera for someone new to photography but it has a few flaws.
Firstly the battery life is TERRIBLE. I have bought the Lithium batteries with a high capacity but still have not managed to use the batteries for more than 70 shots. Perhaps this is a problem with my camera but i have read many more who have had poor battery life too). Also the image sensor packed up as i arrived in New York so i was forced to buy a cheap digital to take photographs with. To be fair, Fuji have been extremely good about services and fixing the camera, but i bought this 4 years ago and while i am extremely happy with the images taken on it, it has let me down too many times.

I would recommend it but just make sure to carry a heck of a lot batteries with you!

Got this camera for christmas and absolutely love it!!!!! For a camera this good the price is amazing and I would definately recommend it to anyone. I use mine mainly for taking pictures of wildlife but it is just as good on landscapes and people and the video has sound and is pretty good quality also. BUY IT!!!!!

Great camera that's easy to 'point and shoot' in Auto mode, but versatile enough to give great photos if you're willing to take the time to read the manual and practise.
Thanks to this camera I'm beginning to take a little more time with photos and seeing the huge difference a little knowledge can make.
All in all, a very, very good buy and i'm over the moon with it.

What a bargain, an excellent camera with a barrow load of options from a simple menu system which make taking great photos easy! great results; and the black is far sexier than the silver. Had a wee problem with the memory card slot cover and PLAY.COM replaced the camera - no hassle. Keep up the good work PLAY.

I've had this camera since about November last year and I love it! Takes fantastically clear photographs and is quite lightweight. Easy to use the different functions, a great alternative to buying an expensive SLR which I did want, but this is definately the next best thing, definately recommend, especially at this price, you'd be silly not to!
