This year's Panasonic's DVD home cinema products feature 1080p up-conversion technology that up-converts standard definition (720 x 576 pixels) images from DVD to near Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Level. These up-converted signals draw out the maximum performance of an HDMI compatible 1080p High Definition TV, giving you vivid, sharp and exceptionally detailed high-resolution images to enjoy.

The PT850, is equipped with 1000W RMS amplification to provide both powerful and rich sound reproduction - perfect for dynamic movie content. The SC-PT850 features four 3-Way Placement Tower Speakers.

Auto Speaker Set-Up
To further improve the multi-channel impact, the PT850 includes a new 'Auto Speaker Set-Up' Function. The system comes equipped with a small microphone that plugs to the main unit. It can be positioned where the listener is going to sit and then a test signal measures the distance from the 'sweet spot' to each of the speakers. It then automatically adjusts the levels for each speaker to achieve a perfectly balanced multi-channel result.

     Brilliant Sound and Picture

    This is the first time I have ever owned a Home Cinema System. I am not technically minded and, once the speakers were built, the set up was done in about 20 seconds! I bought Panasonic to complement my HD Plasma TV (also from Panasonic) and I have not been disappointed! The sound is fantastic and it really does sound like you are in a cinema. I have my Sky HD box connected and you really do notice a different on movies, sports and music channels. Would happily recommend this product to others (sorry to all the neighbours out there!!)

    For the price you can't get much better than this. I was considering one for my PS3, up until I found out that the only thing that supports uncompressed sound material is the dolby digital True HD codec and the DTS-HD codec. These codecs only come with much more expensive prices, cheapest I found was 400 pounds for a av reciver. Another thing to be careful with is the HDMI Pass thru technology, this just means that it will pass the HDMI content through without processing it, acting as a switcher. Hope this was heplful

    Absolutely well impressed, having never had surround sound before wasn't quite sure what to expect however can only say this item is quality and so easy to set up. Anyone thinking of buying one ~ you wont be disapointed. Not yet stumbled on any issues but then again I am not expecting any which is why I always by Panasonic.

    Have this connected to my Ps3 via an optical cable sounds awsome, great picture upscaling, I play all my old dvd's on this and use my Ps3 for Blu Ray, you cant go wrong with this for the price.

    I'm really interested in buying this product, it has all the lastest technologies and what seems to be some great sound offerings too via it's 1000W output.

    However one query is that does this product have HDMI in and then OUT so that when using it with the Playstation 3 you can get PCM Uncompressed Audio?
