The 28mm wide-angle lens opens up a plethera of photographic opportunities, allowing photographers to easily capture a large group of people, or expansive architectural structures and landscapes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The wide-angle lens is particularly helpful in situations where you cannot step back or move away from a subject - ideal for shooting group portraits in a small room for example.

The diminutive size of the 6.0 megapixel DMC-TZ2 belies the wealth of technological features. Incorporating a powerful 10x optical zoom in such a slim and stylish body is impressive in itself. Add to this the incorporation of Panasonic's Mega O.I.S that prevents blurring from shaky hands, Intelligent ISO to prevent motion blur, and the high quality, high performance image-processing Venus Engine III to name but a few - and the calibre of these new additions becomes apparent.

The LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens comprises 11 elements in nine groups, including an ED (extra-low dispersion) lens and three aspherical lenses. This advanced lens unit passes Leica's stringent standards and delivers an exceptional optical performance. To further add to their appeal, the zoom ratio can be extended up to 13.8x in 3megapixel resolution mode with minimal deterioration thanks to the Extra Optical Zoom. By using the central part of the CCD, this powerful zooming function allows you to easily capture and magnify distant subjects. Furthermore, in combination with the 4x digital zoom, a zoom factor of up to 55x can be achieved.

 10x Optical Zoom Camera!

Well impressed with the camera. I have been looking for a while for a 10x optical zoom camera but this is the cheapest and best value compact camera.

Just ordered a 8GB play.com SD HC card to use with it.

I just recieved this camera this morning(super quick delivery)and i am very pleased with it.I am using it as a second camera and i am very impressed with the pictures i have taken to try it out.The camera has a real quality feel to it and you would not hear the zoom lens moving.Some might say its only 6 mega pixels but to be honest with the quality Leica lens its plenty .You may find a cheaper camera with more mega pixels but i don't think it willl be up to the quality of this model.I found it simple and easy to use and in my opinion this camera is an excellent buy at a great price.

This is a must have camera.
It's amazing for it's size,because it has a 28-280mm zoom lens,and the camera is quite small considering this.
The screen is nice and clear,and you really feel like you have a piece of quality in your hands as it is made very well.
The lens produces sharp pictures,thanks to it being the well known brand Leica,and the colours are excellent too.
There are plenty of settings to play around with,but if you just want to point and shoot,there's also a simple mode so you can just take a great picture without worrying about settings.
Panasonic are known for their quality products,and the TZ2 is an example of this,so this is HIGHLY recommended.
