Just wanted to mention that I purchased the 16GB "PLAY" branded SD Card with this camcorder and it works perfectly. It will record approx 7.5 hours is SD mode (which is still very good quality) and just under 4 hours in XP (high quality). My only gripe is the battery (approx. 1 hour continuous recording) but easily workable if you purchase a spare battery pack.
Absolutely ideal for taking on holidays as I wanted something that is a little more robust and water resistant!
Great Value!

Delivery speed was exceptional, under 36hrs. Video lacks sharpness on high zoom settings (not a focus problem) but surprisingly good with macro closeup shots. I've viewed the recorded video file headers which indicated wide scr. recordings are PAL 704x576 mpeg-2 format + stereo 256k mpeg-1 Layer 2 audio. The LCD display is clear and sharp but audio playback volume through the internal speaker could have been louder. Package includes it's own software CD which enables movie downloads via the supplied USB cable and includes what appears to be an acceptable movie editor. I opted to download my video files from the SD card, renamed the extensions from .mod to .mpg and used my preferred mpeg-2 software to edit. I've also transferred video from the memory card to my Panasonic EX77 recorder via SDHC socket which gave the expected hi-compatibility quality. You can playback your recordings or stream live video through your tv/dvd-recorder a/v inputs using the composite video cable supplied with relevant degradation. Storage capacity is 2Gb using the (class4) SD card supplied but I've upgraded to maximum capacity installing a 4Gb (class6) SDHC Transcend card. The class6 rating (an overkill maybe?) to ensure no video transfer speed problems. Battery capacity could be a problem, chosen more for miniaturisation than performance (mobile phone capacity and size) quoted in the manual as lasting 70 mins max. but admits 40-50 mins being more realistic. This can of course be overcome by purchasing a spare Panasonic or compatible battery plus charger. Not for the true video archiver but hip flask mobility and tv standard compatibility plus Play.com's low price I still rate this camera above the best mobile phone video cameras out there at the moment.

we think that this camcorder is super and so easy to use and what a cheap price,i went to jessops to look at the previous model the s07 and was amazed how small it was ,i asked the staff how much it was and he said £249.99 so i never bought it at that price, thankfully i came to play.com and paid £159.99 and for a newer model,we cannot believe how easy it is to burn onto a blank dvd disk with the software it comes with, and the picture quality is great, thanks play.com for a unbeatable bargain.this is a must buy fellow play dot commers

  superb low cost video camera

ordered this from PLAY on a Wednesday evening, received it on the following Friday morning, very fast delivery as usual. this camera is very small, has no moving parts, and can reproduce very high quality sound and video in mpeg2 format (means its video files will play back from my PS3 hard drive, nice!!). battery life is excellent, USB2.0, comes with decent editing software, LCD screen is very clear and a decent size for such a small device. it comes with a 2gb SD card which will record about 30mins of very high quality footage, or around an hour of normal quality (which is far beyond being "normal"!). i recommend getting a 4gb card, be aware that this unit cannot use a 8gb SD card for video recording. very happy with this, at this price it was too good too miss. oh, and it does it all in glorious widescreen too.

  WOW!! Amazing Little Camcorder...

All the quality you would expect from Panasonic in the worlds smallest camcorder! It really is small and yet it performs outstandingly. It is ready to record almost immediately after you turn it on, it produces DV quality images and records them to a small memory stick which can easily be transferred to a PC for editing. You can feel that it is a quality piece of kit as soon as you handle it. With an RRP of over twice this price for under £150 play.com have done it again...a true bargain not to be missed!
