In my opinion there are not many dvd recorders out there. Perhaps this is due to the popularity of Sky + or other such like Harddrive digital recorders.
This is a great machine if you just want to simply record your programmes on DVD and you dont want to pay extra for integrated freeview or a Hard drive as your exsisting set-up may allready have these features.
Havnt had any problems yet - whereas my old Liteon dvd recorder had problems all over the place. Anyway becky if you wanted a top class dvd recorder for a fair price then grab this one before it sells out!

 Great!

Tis great - as far as hooking up to sky box goes - I followed the diagram and changed settings to RGB out on sky box (note I have HD box but doubt that makes any difference). It didnt work til I checked the troubleshooting section of Sony's manual - you have to press the input button to change the input source to L1 - worked a treat then! And agree - I set the recording mode to record 4 hours of a standard def tv recording I wanted to keep and its still good quality! Great value.

Great recording at a suitable price.

I picked this up since this was one of Play.com's weekly offers. It's great - not just for recording television but for recording from other devices too.

I was impressed that it could record my video games footage flawlessly from the composite connectors at the front. Worked great when recording footage from PlayStation 2.

When I used it with the Xbox 360, I thought it only worked in 50hz but tweaking a few options in the DVD recorder's options soon let me begin recording 60hz (some video games only work in this moving image format).

I recommend it if you want an affordable and reliable recording device for your television programmes, camcorder, video games console and more.

The playback works great too for DVDs (you can also watch DivX encoded videos). There's a HDMI port that you can use to upscale your DVDs and also component output ports are there too. Should work well with standard televisions but also with high-definition television sets, thanks to the extra ports.

 FANTASTIC PRICE - FANTASTIC MACHINE

I purchased this back in January 2008 and have been raving on about it to all my mates ever since.

A quality machine from a premium brand - what more could you ask for - If you want a DVD Recorder without the hard drive go for this one.

The upscaling capabilities are amazing - I have a 1080p tv and this goes fantastic with it.

You can tell the difference straight away when watching a DVD with a HDMI cable upscaled compared to using just a scart cable.
