Pioneer DCS-370 DVD Home Cinema System With HDMI And Tallboy Speakers

This a fantastic sounding bit of kit considerring that it is an all in one system.The system has an easy to use interface with which you can select various sound setups to match the media you are watching/Listening to.
The system is very easy on the eye and the tall boy speakers are very thin which is a big plus point if you dont have a massive front room like myself.

Now the let down............ You can only use the system in surround sound mode if you are playing a dvd through the supplied player. Don't buy this system to link up to your TV or PS3 etc thinking that you will be able to have 5.1 surround luxury. It just isnt possible.
It also only has one RCA input which is poor at this price. I am now looking for a suitable Av reciever to compliment the system.

Picture quality from the supplied dvd player is fantastic. Great upscaling on my old dvds. This IS NOT an HDDVD player though. I was told by a rival competitor to Play that it was.

Overall great if you want to watch DVD's in crystal clear picture and sound but don't buy it for a one stop solution to surround setup to your Entertainment setup.

i recently received the Pioneer DCS-370 cinema system, as part of a package with my new HD Panasonic 42PX80B plasma TV. What a system it is. The sound quality and upscaling of your standard DVDs is excellent (depending on the capabilities of your TV). There are numerous sound options available depending on your listening preferences. I don't know how many times i've been told to turn the bloody bass down by the other half. If you want a great cinema system get this.
As i say at the top of the review there is only 1 serious minus point and that is there is no 5.1 surround sound from a sky box (if connected) but who wants to listen to some boring soaps or american comedies in surround sound. Even the stereo 2.1 settings when watching normal tv are very good. If you enjoy watching DVDs more than Tv programmes i cannot recommend highly enough.
