Fantastic sounding but no so fantastic comfort.

I was determined to get a better sound from my music so I decided to upgrade to these from my Sennheiser HD485s after a few recommendations. All I can say about the sound is wow. If you upgraded to these from some stock earphones that come with an MP3 player, you will be absolutely amazed by the sound. Crystal clear sound with great highs, great mids and good bass, but with so much focus on the high and mid end it means these are absolutely fantastic for rock and heavy metal music, but no so much for RnB, rap and other genres which require a lot more bass.

Unfortunately these aren't the most comfortable headphones in the world! When you come from a more comfy set of phones you will definitely feel the difference in comfort. They have gradually started to become more comfortable over time as I have washed the ear pads and stretched them a bit to fit my head more. I can wear these for hours on end but parts of my ears start to get a bit sore after a while, so if you are looking for headphones to wear over a course of several hours at a time you are better off looking at another pair of headphones. But if you don't listen to music for long stretches of time want absolutely fantastic sound quality then you've found the headphones for you.

  Best for price and performance.

What are these Sennheiser HD650s that everyone is talking about? Forget them! These headphones blow them straight out of the water, I bought these as an upgrade in order to experience the best possible sound available while watching Blu-Ray movies and playing video games that use lossless uncompressed sound data. They pick up everything, a classic example; the first thing I did was put on some Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" to test out the bass... not only was the bass perfect but from left to right I could tell where each drum and symbol was situated whenever he struck it.

My friends have been awe struck after playing some Metal Gear Solid 4 with these babies on, and they are now off to buy a set for themselves.

The only gripe I have is that they are a little uncomfortable at first, but after wearing them for a few hours your ears can adjust and you hardly notice you are wearing them.

Stop reading this and start buying!

These are my first set of proper headphones and they are worth every penny. The design may be a bit dated, but the sound quality more than makes up for it.

These cans produce wonderful and exciting sound that has to be heard to be believed. Great clarity in the highs, mids also delivers a strong, natural punchy bass.

Was a bit weary of build quality but these have not failed me to this day. Had positive comments from friends saying they love the retro style of them!

Decent entry level to proper audiophile headphones, sound gorgeous. Although they can be a little overpowering in the treble and might not be the best built at this price. Love 'em
