Logitech Harmony 885 Advanced Universal Remote Control

To be honest I'm just buying the remote to admire the screen and the beauty of the remote. I have a tv and sky plus HD and I haven't got a problem with two remotes, however I just wan't this remote to ee what it can do and see if I can control my whole house!!!

I bought this remote a few months ago (wish I waited as it's now much cheaper! Hey-ho!) I decided on the 885 after reading reviews & asking some of my local AV dealers opinoins. I had previoulsy owned a Philips 8-in-1 & One-4-all cheapy remote. I never got on with them & had issues with certian devices working properly.
I was assured that the Harmony family would be easy to set up & would actually work.

You know what... it did!

Couldn't believe how simple it was to set up & when I came to using my 885 it worked a treat. All the devices worked & switched to the correct inputs on my TV & amp.
The 885 can control up to 15 IR devices, Logitech use a database of products so no punching in codes etc, then it's a step by step wizard set up for creating an activity (watch sky/dvd/xbox etc.)
There is an 0800# if you need it for customer support and that was one of the other reasons why it was recommended.

As I put in the title - Even my wife loves it! She normally doesn't like or use my gadgets but she comfortably uses the 885 for watching Sky or a DVD etc.
Nice one Logitech, simple, looks good & works like a dream.

Bought this remote to alliviate the need for 6 others - wasn't sure it would work properly - as i have had other universal multi remotes in the past which kind of worked but not fully - must say this is the easiest remote to set up and is the most logical to use.
Set up in three easy stages:
1. List all of your products you want to add - you can add upto 15 products!
2. Put software disc into pc
3. Plug in remote via usb and follow set up wizard - done!

Definitely reccomend this to any one who has tried other universal remotes - this one actually works like the original remotes only all in one remote - i have my tv, dvd, sky+, cd player, amp and surround sound all on this remote and they all work as i want them to - only issue i have is that i now need one of these for upstairs.

Have been reading up on this (US forums) and it seems that this remotes works and the US market likes it. I know it looks big (its not) but I like its sturdy feel and it has plenty of buttons, which all work ! Either way programmed it up via the online software, called their tech support (0800 on saturday as well) as I wanted to change something and they did it for me ! They then told me to plug the remote into my pc and updated the remote and sorted everything out ! I wish car or pc manufacturers could do this would save a lot of calls and travelling about... Bye bye 5 remotes
