ok anybody out there like me been watching blue rays on ps3 stop right now. rest assured you not getting true hd quality on your games console,,buy this machine and see the diference, game consoles like x box and ps3 are really made for games full stop .blue ray on ps3 is probably the poorest quality.. get 1400 samsung its fantastic price great picture and sounds amazing, hook up to home cinema system for ace sound--picture is up to 3 times better than ps3 for sure-- be aware does not play true dolby hd, does however sound great in 5.1 and dts

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Great player, great price.

Hooked this up on Saturday. Was feeling slightly anxious after some luke warm reviews. I have to say i'm really impressed. Picture is superb it blew me away, much better than playing Blu-ray on my PS3. Sound quality is also superb (to the guy who moaned about only getting 2 channels, go into the audio options on the player. Prob solved). My only slight niggle is the load time, but this is nit picking. In short dont think twice about purchasing.

Just bought this player mainly because I already own a Samsung plasma and cinema system and basically my one Samsung tv remote can control everything through the Anynet+ system that is in all new Samsung products.

Completely recommend this player to anyone, once you get used to the loading (which happens on nearly all BD players) everything is fantastic. Picture and sound is out of this world and I've compared this to a PS3 and the pic on the Samsung is far better (as I weighed up both options before buying)

I know so people complain about prices of BD discs and players but it was exactly the same when Video's and Dvd's first came out. Play delivered this player to me within 2 days which is fantastic. If you already own a HD ready tv then buying a player like this (and spending £5 on a HDMI cable) will make the most of your tv. Once you've tried blu-ray, you won't go back.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Excellent for price

When I bought my first DVD player it was £350 for a display one - this is a bargain. One question - Boudreaux's review regarding PS3, where have you seen them for less than £290?

Im afraid that the PS3 like the ps2 before it is made of cheap components and whilst it was great to get a player for your money, it is significantly inferior to this and will most likely break within 2 years (although GTA4 seems to be bringing that forward!). Besides there are hardly any significant games on it to warrant the extra £100

Picture is great and you can get a HDMI cable for £5. Go on, you know you want to.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars great player

Got this player last week and also bought a £40 HDMI cable (a must). Watched Earth the picture quality is excellent and disc load time not a problem as the result is worth the wait. great value and simple to use.

Really impressive piece of kit, got this as i have the Samsung 32 inch TV, both work like clockwork together, easy to set up. Delivery in two days as well. Only drawback is that it doesnt come with a HDMI cable, although you can get one for £8. Cant go wrong really. BUY THIS PLAYER!!!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Excellent far better quality than the PS3 player

In reply why I would get this over a PS3 is Two reasons -

1 - The PS3 is a hideous looking machine and I can only compare it to a George Foreman toaster with a PS2 stuck underneath it.

2 - I have seen this (and another player) side by side with the PS3 and this has a much better picture , it's much like comparing a separate Hi Fi system against an all in One midi system no comparison due to noise, cheaper parts etc on the midi/PS3 systems..
