Brought this camera as a first digital camera. Must say i find it very easy to use, the software that comes with it is easy to install and upload your pictures onto computer.
The picture quality is good, and after looking around at quite a few camera's I find this camera fits the bill perfectly. I would recomend buying the accessory kit which comes with rechargable batteries, but overall very pleased and for £59.99 what a bargain, thanks alot play.com.
Great value camera.

I bought this Samsung s85 as a quick replacement for my Fuji F31fd which my son dropped on holiday, and has not worked since. At a price of £59.99 i don't think youcan go wrong. The picture quality is on par with the Fuji but the start-up time is a little slower and there is a bit of shutter lag. The movie setting quality however is rather poor compared to the fuji, the sound is rather muffled and the image is a bit noisy. All in all i would recommend this camera but i would like to get my Fuji repaird.
great deal!

Bought this camera a few weeks ago now- and it's served ,me well so far, with good quality photos/images, as well as the camera itself being nice and compact. A criticism would be that when it's on the night mode, i found it rather slow to load as it does take some time and can be very slightly annoying (but not much of a problem) . I would advise you that if you were going to buy this camera, as it takes AA batteries (and batteries waste very fast in digital cameras), to buy some rechargeable AA batteries which will save on the cost of batteries as well as protecting the environment and being a lot cost effective. Maybe that's just me though, as I basically start taking pictures of anything (so maybe i just use it too much and you may not need rechargeable batteries. By the way, another thing to be aware of is that due to the size of the lens being slightly large even when closed it is quite difficult to find a suitable protective case to carry it around in, as it is classed as a larger compact camera. So far none of the ones I have found have been big enough. Hope you've found this review helpful. Thanks alot.
Probably the best camera I've seen and cheap too!

This camera is a must buy, 8.2 megapixel equats to 3264x2448 pictures, which are amazing quality for such a cheap camera, I would recomend buying some 2700mAh Ni-mh rechargable batterys for it (AA)
If anyones wondering the camera has a storage size of 18.9Megabytes, without an sd card, allowing for around 50x1 megapixel pictures or 6x8.2 megapixel pictures
The timer function is fantastic one of the best ive seen, with a blinking red light to give you plenty of time to get into position.
The video capture quality is 640x480 at 30fps, which can be altered to 320x240 at 15 fps,
Thats about all i can say about this camera i also recomend buying a 4GB SD HC card as they improve the camera's abilitys to no end, storing hundreds of full quality images.
Good for a cheap compact camera

Bought this camera about a week ago now - so far its been ideal, good quality fotos, nice & compact (which is why it appealed) although bit slow on the night mode to take piccys. If you do buy this camera you WILL need to invest in some rechargable batteries if your like me who photograph's anything, I was going through batteries very quickly, which is an expensive game. Another thing to be aware of is that because of the size of the lens even when closed it is proving hard to fing a suitable protective case to carry it around in, as it is classed as a larger compact camera. So far none of the ones I have found have been big enough. Hope this review helps.
Perfect

Very easy to use with good build quality, just what I needed. The picture quality is also amazing and the battery life seems quite respectable.
Mostly all round good camera

I purchase the camera back in December and i find it really good for most occasions. Its a good point and click camera, quite a few settings for different occasions.
I do find the menu system abit challenging at time, there's an option for the basics of the camera and then there's an option for each setting in the camera and half the time I dont know what does what. The guide isnt too clear on everything.
The only down falls I see compared to my old kodak camera is that when you take your first photo it takes 7 - 10 seconds to allow you to take another photo.
In night mode when you actually use it as night the camera will take a very long time saying Capturing and when it does flash it'll take a while saying Processing. Which at the end of the shot the photo it took may not be that good with blurs.
I wouldn't buy and use this camera if your planning on using it as a gig unless it's very well lite and the person on stage stands still for a while. You'll need something that has a sports/action mode which sadly this camera doesn't have.
Battery life is good if you get some decent batteries, you need Mah 2500 for this camera so I went for Mah 2700 for that extra umph.
Optical zoom is good, digital zoom is alright, video I must say is alright but not as good as sometimes you'll hear this buzzing. You'll need a memory card for this as it takes up alot of memory with it's 8.2 MB resolution, maybe turn it down to 5 to say that extra space.
I would recommend a case as the camera isn't that tough.
Overall good camera for general use.
BRILLIANT !

Got camera a few weeks ago. More than happy. I would advise to buy rechargable batteries, as batteries that came with camera lasted no time. Also bought ENCORE classic charger + 4 2700 mah batteries last week from Play.com. A LOT BETTER !!.
good
