ACB(Auto Contrast Balance) function
The new Auto Contrast Balance automatically compensates the brightness of objects in challenging light environments (ie back lit conditions) to ensure a perfectly exposed image.

As part of the second generation of the NV series, the Samsung NV8 is equipped with an 8.1 mega pixel CCD.
Fast ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) function
Fast ASR technology prevents the degradation of image clarity and colour which is sometimes found in flash photography. With Fast ASR the effects of image blur are reduced in lower light conditions. You can even take well exposed, sharper pictures in low light conditions without using a flash at all, which guarantees brighter and more natural pictures.
The superior Schneider-KREUZNACH lens
The high-quality optics in Schneider-KREUZNACH lenses deliver crystal-clear images with every shot. The bright F2.8 lens offers even resolution from the centre to the edges. For more natural-looking pictures, each lens surface is multi-coated to minimise the "ghost" or "flare" phenomenon.
Consistent NV Design

Face Recognition AF & AE
The NV8 has a built-in Face Recognition AF & AE feature that detects up to nine different faces, enabling you to take perfect portraits of friends and family. In addition to automatically adjusting focus and brightness to optimum levels, this feature also senses and removes red-eye.
TV quality MPEG4 movie mode with sound (30fps)
The NV8 supports MPEG4 VGA (640x480, 30fps) for enhanced video recording. You can even edit your movies on the camera itself, making these clever models brilliantly portable but powerful movie-makers.
Multi-charging system

Red-eye Fix for natural, flattering portrait shots
A special red-eye fix algorithm on the camera automatically eliminates red-eye from your pictures. You can emove red-eye during image playback, or for even greater convenience, set the camera to automatically detect and eliminate red-eye from your shots as they are taken.

Got this camera through play.trade & is a fab little camera, really easy to pick up & use with a great smart touch interface! Cant wait to test it on holidays next week but pictures taken so far really good even in this countrys misrable weather!

This had a high score on this site. Is it too good to be true? No it is a good package and so far it seems very good quality. Not sure about the reliability. Lets hope it last longer than the low quality, high price Sony it relaces. Arrived quickly from Play, however the packaging was not what you would expect from Play. It was no more than a plastic bag and it was torn open !!. Not good enough for a photographic product !

A great compact digital camera, and a thing of beauty. Very stylish (the black model looks far better than the silver). The LCD screen is of great quality and larger than most other cameras. The user-guide supplied is very basic, but you can download a full and comprehensive manual from the Samsung website.
