Top 100 Reviewer

This is my first iPod/ Mp3 player and I must say that so far I am very impressed with it. I bought it in the first month that it arrived on the shelves wanting a high quality iPod and one with a stylish design so I decided to give this one a try. Was I to be disappointed??

Well as you might have guessed by the star rating that I gave it I am not disappointed with it. The iPod touch is the best iPod/ Mp3 player that I have tried. First thing is first and that is the sound quality and the music. The sound quality is something that lets the iTouch down a little, the earphones that come with the iTouch aren't the best and that is why the sound quality is mediocre and lets the iTouch down somewhat. Next is the music, the 8 gigabyte (8gb) can hold up to 4000 songs which is plenty unlike some iPods that can hold up to 30,000 songs, which to me is a ridicules amount of songs, many people don't even know 30,000 words!!

Next is the video quality, the large screen makes for very enjoyable video viewing. The video quality is crystal clear and can hold a decent amount of videos as well, there is not much more to say about the videos on the iTouch so I am going to move on.

The iTouch also comes with the Internet built into it; this is my favourite thing about the iTouch as you can connect to the Internet on the go- Amazing!! The Internet connection quality varies depending on which router you connect to, Example: if you connect to a internet connection with a good signal then it will be faster, however if you connect to a weaker connection then it will be slower. The Itouch also comes with Youtube built in this is extremely useful as you don't have to always look it up on the Safari; you can also bookmark your favourite videos. On the Internet you can bookmark your favourite sites instead of looking them up again and again!!

Overall the iTouch is a highly entertaining and an extremely useful piece of equipment. It includes many extra things installed in it like photos, clock, weather, stocks, videos, the Internet and of coarse iTunes built in you won't know where to begin. Overall a really brilliant piece of equipment and I highly recommend it if you are thinking of getting an ipod or Mp3 player.

Pros:
+ Smooth, sleek design.
+ Super video quality.
+ Smooth touch design.
+ Decent battery life.
+ Glass screen doesn't scratch.
+ It's an iPod.

Cons:
- Sound quality is only mediocre.
- Adequate headphones supplied.
- The back scratches too Easley.

Overall: 8/10
Sound Quality: 7/10
Video Quality: 9/10
Internet: 8/10.

I was orginally going to get an I-phone but after reading that the I-pod touch also had wi-fi and many of the other features that the I-phone has, i decided to buy this inside - and i've never been happier. I had an I-Pod nano before hand.

Bout sound and picture quality is amazing.
Wi-fi connection works really well.
Through I-tunes you can get software updates - when available.

I knew this thing would be good but I didn't expect it to be THIS good! With the updated software there are so many apps, I have a map with route planner, calendar and so many more available (games too). The touch screen is amazing it's so responsive and accurate and not sluggish at all. I love this little thing, it's so much more than a media player!

Like the person below me states, This is one of the best inventions over the course of the new 'Technology era'. This literally has everything you need to being one step closer to everyone. Of Course it's no iPhone but It still has WiFi connection and countless amounts of Application's from Crash Bandicute style of Mario racing games, this is literally a DS with the same graphics and games.Ontop of the new additions it still has the superb sound quality that the iPod has allways had and with more and more video's being updated everyday, endless amounts of hours of video to purchase in the iPod store. You must literally be a fool to miss out on such a fantastic product.

This little gadget has got to be the best invention of the 21st century, so far. The touch-screen technology is simply amazing and coupled with the genius software engineers at Apple who have implemented a fantastic mobile version of Safari, provides the user with the best Internet experience for handheld devices bar none. With software release 2.0 due in 10 days, the iPod touch will get even better with third-party apps.

I'll keep this breif. This device is beautiful. I've had mine for a few months now, even after that amount of time, i still get a wow factor when i turn it on.

audio quality = excellent
video quality = excellent

I was worried that the screen and the quality would be too low to watch movies on with comfort. I need not worry. The display is that good you forget your watching it on such a small screen!

If your looking to go beyond what the device offers, reserach jail breaking. It voids your warrenty, but there are hundreds if not thousends of extra applications out there now.

Also Apple are offering the "App Store" now, which has simmerlar effects of jailbreak without voiding your warrenty. Some apps are not free however through the app store.

I give the device 9/10

My only gripe is the battery. If your playing music, it lasts ages as with video. However, web browsing is another story. Espically downloading large amounts of data.

I highly reccomend this item.

For some years now, I've had a fifth generation 60Gb iPod Video, and I've been very pleased with it for many reasons - having your entire CD collection in one tiny, good looking box is fairly priceless anyway - but added to that I would say that the iPod, whilst certainly not an exotic piece of high-end hi-fi equipment, sounds astonishingly good for a portable audio player. Use it with a pair of decent headphones, Sennheisers being a personal favourite, and you won't believe what you hear. Another great reason for owning one is that so many other manufacturers have jumped on the iPod bandwagon. In my car, for instance, I have an interface box which sits between my car's CD player and the iPod - the ipod is then placed out of sight, and is controlled by the head unit. Lately, quite a few hi-fi manufacturers have also begun to recognise the iPod as a serious piece of equipment, and have started to make some fantastically good amplifier / speaker combinations - TL Audio's Fatman iTube, for instance, which uses vacuum tubes instead of transistors for amplification. The video capability of the iPod, far from being a poorly conceived add-on (we're talking about Apple here, who seem to have an unrivalled ability to conceive and design something that actually does what it says it can do, without endless bug-fixes and reliability problems) works like a dream. So, how could this be better? Take all of the above, make it smaller, add the most gorgeous user interface ever invented, then add wi-fi and the ability to stream video from your wireless router, increase the battery life, and make it sound even better. Even if you never actually turn the thing on, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of equipment ever made; the very definition of 'tactile'. A fairly mandatory buy with the touch is the docking station with video connector. I've been using mine to stream BBC iPlayer programmes through my home system - again, you won't believe what you're seeing. Sure, it's not high definition, but it's better than VHS video quality, definitely more than watchable. You also see it full screen on either the player or your TV, not the usual window if you're streaming it on a PC. The fact that all this is coming from something which isn't too much bigger than a credit card will never cease to amaze. Then there's the sound quality. I won't be getting rid of my older iPod which has everything I own encoded at a lesser bitrate, and what I've done with my iPod touch is to encode about 100 of the albums I play most at lossless quality. (This is on a 32Gb iPod.) Concerning MP3 and other encoding systems there is always a trade-off between file size and sound quality, and you lose more storage space doing it like this - but for doing so you are rewarded with a huge increase in sound quality, especially when you're playing it through a decent hi-fi system - at the risk of labouring a point, you won't believe what you're hearing. In case you haven't worked this out, I'm completely hooked, which I'm very surprised to say because about twenty years ago I sold staggeringly expensive hi-fi equipment and would never even have dreamed of something like this even slightly entertaining me. It's like the toy you always imagined as a kid, the one that could never really exist except in science fiction, but even better - with a constant ability to surprise at what it can do, and draw admiring looks from other people who then curse you for having 'had to' go and get one. Can't recommend it enough - go and get one, the bigger the better!
