I read all the reviews for this product and decided I should buy this over the i-pod nano, i managed to download 1,450 songs onto the walkman in under an hour, the battery life is amazing, the audio and video quality is amazing. i used to use my PSP for music, then i went to my sony ericson phone which was a huge jump in quality but the headphones stopped working so i decided to buy a new mp3 playing device (this player) and i have to say the jump in quality is huge you can hear instruments in songs you've never heard before. At £75 this player is a bargain (to play video's i use mpeg-4(i-pod) seems to work for me).

  Impressive!

I've owned and loved a couple of the older model Sony players (NW-HD1/ NW-HD3) - they had great sound quality, but the Sonicstage software was always bit clunky. This is a big improvement with easy drag and drop loading, and the same great sound. Comfortable headphones and long battery life too - what's not to like??

  Highly recomended

Excellent product, outstanding audio and video playback. Headphones are of very high quality. Compact, lightweight, sturdy and simple to use with media player 11, or you can just use it like a memory device and drag and drop. Would "hands down" recomend this product over any ipod...have used both and this wins by far. Battery life is also excellent.

Easiest way to convert video to play on this unit would be to use any software that converts video files to play on a psp (it plays the same filetype that is used on sony psp hand held consoles)...but the quality is outstanding, you honestly forget you are looking at a 2" screen. Watched a full season of Family Guy and the movie "300" whilst on a recent holiday...great for travelling.

Only drawback is no radio....but unless radio is a must, i'd say buy this.

Well what can i say.Based on a weeks review i have to say the advancements made in mp3 are excellent. Was only couple years ago paid this much for a 1 gig Queb or whatever its called , and i thought then that was awsome but this is something els.Just wish i could get a discount like others had but no worries anyway...Its nice slim and def looks better first hand,it has good battery life span, very good screen, and has exxcellent sound quality.Note tho that using mp3s at higher rates 192 -202 -328 kbs will shorten the battery life but this is normal..lol..For the price i cant see any reason why ipod purchase would be justified at half the memory for double the price..(what small features extra make it that much better?)Drag n drop feature easy really..If you want quality hassle free music you cant go wrong.

I have bought ipod nanos in the past and although i found them extremely good, after having problems, i decided to go for something different. When i found this i was amazed at how good it was for nearly half the price of the Nano and with a student discount making it £66.49 an absolute bargain!

  Great MP3 player from Sony

This MP3 player is brilliant. It's small, and looks fab. The sound quality is really good and the screen is so crisp and clear. A fantastic price for a great piece of equipment from the masters at Sony. Way better than an Ipod and cheaper too!
You can drag and drop songs from a CD onto the Walkman it's simple and easy to do.
I really recommend this, you don't need external batteries just plug into USB and charge (it does take 3 hrs to fully charge it but it's worth the wait). The earphones are really comfy too and come with different sized buds for small, medium or large ears.

It really takes listening to music to a new level.

Buy it. You won't regret it ;)

Best mp4 player I've ever seen.

I got it for my birthday 11 months ago (£149.99) and i definitely don't regret it. It's worth the money and It's so much easier and fun to use than an I-pod, it's cool looking, and isn't instantly recognised by everyone.

It's one downfall is the dreadful software attatched, it's just usable - but frequent crashes and problems with gracenote are a pain.

But it doesn't ruin the incredible picture & sound quality of the player and at half the price I bought it at it's a bargain. If you listen to a lot of people who say 'i-pod is the best' etc. just ask them why and more often then not they're stumped.

  rubbish buy a i-pod
