I got this last week and wow!! what a surprise it was. The picture quality couldnt be better and the sound quality is second to none! it has 8GB memory and stores more than enough tracks and video play. I reccomend this to anyone considering buying one! This I have to say, is better than the ipod, YES, better than the apple ipod!!

  WOW !!!!

I have just purchased this MP3 player and everything about it is great, drag and drop music from computer to player. The sound is great, easy to use, only one bad point about the player no radio but you cant have everything. Great player for a great price, A friend of mine has also purchased one when he saw how easy it was to use, the size 8GB, the sound and the price.

Easy to Install and easy to use. Louder and better than an i-pod with great video quality which is just a bonus to the music. For £69.99 it it an absolute bargain. You will not be disappointed.

A very nice piece of kit...

I bought this as a short term replacement for my Ipod nano (I broke the screen, whoops) but now that I have this I wouldn't go back to an Ipod, very clear sound, standard headphones are nice, the screen is bright and has a funky clock feature and feels a hell of a lot more sturdy than an Ipod. Its very simple to use, the only problem you may have is if you've been importing songs as avi rather than MP3's you'll need to convert them to put them on the player.
At this price its foolish not to buy it if you're after an MP3 player.

(For those who want a quick review, here it is: GET THIS MP3 PLAYER!)

About 2 years ago I bought the NW-A1000 Walkman, the awesome purple one where the screen becomes hidden :P. The sound quality was amazing, even when I had to replace the headphones with cheaper ones.

I originally had an iPod, which started playing up at about 1 year after buying it. That put me off iPods.

I decided to stick with Walkman for my third player, and chose this one. It sounded great just by the specs shown, and at a VERY good price. Cheaper than anywhere else (At the time, unsure now).

This is the best MP3 player you could buy! THe sound quality blew me away, and that was before I started playing with the various sound settings to make it sound exactly how I wanted. The battery life is amazing, and I've still not had to charge it up for the second time. The speakers, although probably considered uncomfortable by most as they go further into your ear, are well worth getting used to. They add so much depth to your music which many other headphones wouldn't do, even if you changed the settings on the MP3 player.

Drag and drop is a very quick and effortless way to add music and video to the Walkman, although I advise using WMP11, as it makes sure all of the music has album art.

My only problem is with converting videos. I think what would make this Walkman more amazing than it already is, is being able to play a wider range of more commonly used video formats.

Buy this MP3 player!!!

  Way better than iPods

Okay, I already have an Ipod touch with the volume amp mod and the Sony still had much better sound quality much clearer, sharper crisper without using any sound enhancements. Videos look awesome on the tiny screen, how good a video looks all depends on how you convert it, the spiderman trailer looks nice but i noticed some pixelation when watching it, thankfully when I encoded my own videos they were perfect.

I used Videora a video converter for iPods, I set it up so it was MPEG4 320x240 with a 768 bitrate and my videos worked fine, read a lot of reviews where people were having problems with video, but it was probably lack of knowledge.

Supplied headphones are a real surprise, these alone make the iPod sound better and they fit in my ears perfectly, I have several headphones, the other in ear I have are the 11mm Skull Candy Full Metal Jackets and these do fall out of my ears, so I expected the same from the Sony's but they fit a lot better and sounded a lot better too, which annoyed me having spent £35 on the Skull Candys.

Battery life is great, charging time from flat is about 3hrs, easy to use menus, more compact than the iPod Touch.

The main reason I bought this was for playing high quality music, since it's smaller than my iTouch but you can fit a lot more high quality video on there because of the smaller screen, I've got loads of music videos, and 3 full length films on there (not really to watch but just because I can).

A hell of a lot better than iPods for sound quality and cheaper too, also you don't need to use itunes, just drag and drop and everyone should remember SONY MADE THE WALKMAN they know what they're doing.

Fantastic quality for a fabulous price!!

I previously bought the older version of this player about a year ago and it was a complete hassle having to transfer songs due to Sony's Sonicstage conversion program.

This newer version allows the drag and drop option which is genuis !!!

A side note... the earphones that come with this player cost roughy £50 and are on of the best earphones around (esp BASS). so for an extra £19.99, why not get the 8gb mp3 player along!!! =)

  Awesome iPod beater

I bought this recently to replace my iPod Nano that broke.
Straight away it looks so much better than the iPod, with a great large screen, and buttons that are well layed out and make it extremely easy to operate.
My laptop automatically recognised the device so there was no need to install any software and the drag and drop file transferral makes moving music and movies fast and simple.
The menu system may not be quite up to the iPod but for almost half the price of an 8gb iPod this has my vote everytime!
