Sennheiser CX500 Headphones (White)

I decided it was time that I should probably spend out on some decent earphones, as my iPod earphones were broken and I'd driven over my other earphones.

So I bought these and haven't regretted it! I surfed the internet for recommend brands and apparently the top ones are Sennheiser and Shure. Shure tends to be the more expensive choice. Sennheiser have only recently started making earphone products other than headphones of which they are best known for.

In the 2 weeks of having them I've had the chance to try them out on a train, bus and plane!
TRAIN - only could hear the sound of the engine with no music playing. The Ticket Officer had to wave in front of me to get my attention.
BUS - didn't even hear the on board movie playing in the background (Hellboy). It made me jump as I took the earphones out.
PLANE - could slightly hear the engine with music playing.

I need the explore all the ear plugs that come with the earphones, but it's comfortable to wear. 4 hour's plus and it may start to sting.

Even though I don't have experience of other earphones on the market, I would definitely recommend you to buy them. Wide audio frequency range, great bass, and superb value. Play.com has the best price for them.

I now own two Sennheiser CX500 headphones, one real and one fake. Many people have left bad reviews about the product but they are the ones that have purchased counterfeit headphones. There are many ways to tell the difference but the best thing to do is to buy from a well know retailer such as Play.com........... The headphones are amazing like all products made by Sennheiser and they just keep getting better. Play.com should not allow any seller to sell head/earphones on Playtrade.

I've owned a number of mid-spec headphones over the past few years (my last being the shure 110-N). In comparison to the Shure's, these wipe the floor. With the Shure, there were instant problems with the extension cable that came with it and the sound (especially the bass) was just not what i was expecting. With these Sennheisers however, the bass is just fantastic, so much so that ive had to turn my ipod's treble up! The sound isolation is also alot better than the Shure's and the overall fit is more comfortable. These were also £15 cheaper so are an absolute bargain in comparison! Strongly recommend these, but remember to turn the bitrate up to get the most out of them!!!

These earphones are brilliant. I dont know why people are not happy with these. They are absolutely brilliant, bought them from here from Seller AudioWorld and they are absolutely brilliant with no issues at all.

Only slight issue with actually trying to open the packaging, very hard plastic and very sharp edges, so watch out.

At first, the most important thing: buy only ORIGINAL Sennheiser, either from here, or from a shop. The original one has really good quality, and when you listen the music, you will not belive it. The fake one has bad sound. (I bought a fake AKG K324p from the e-bay, and I asked for replacement, they sent me another fake... I throwed them in the rubbish bin...) So after you buy the original one, you will be happy with it! I had Sennheiser CX 300 before, I used it for 2 years, but one day one of the speaker was broken. Than I decided, I have a look on the internet, to do some quality change. I was sure, I want another Sennheiser, because I tried a lots of earphones in my friends company, but no one reached the level of the CX 300's. I wanted only symmetrical cable, because the CX 300's asymmetrical cable wasn't comfortable, the cable was too long for the longer side. The CX 500 ist much comfortable with the symmetric cable, and with the new shape double-looking earplug. The volume control works absolutely perfectly from minimum to maximum (because it's original), and it cannot move from itself under the clothes... The volume is perfect, I have a Sony NWZ-S 515 mp3 player, the volume control is adjustable up to level 30, but I'm living in a big city, and when I walk in the centre, the volume level 20 is enough to listen the music loud, and to hear nothing from the environment noises. When I turn up the volume to level 30, the sound is still clear, and I feel myself in a club :-)
The difference after the CX-300 : a bit louder, more bass, more treble, and more high, the sound is much clearer, and to wear is comfortable. I was so sure about my decision, I bought 2 white CX 500's :-) The other one uses my girlfriend, she was amazed too about the performance. Some people wrote, it's difficult to open the package... It was cca 15 sec to cut the package around with a big scissor :-)
One more thing. When you order on the internet, buy from here (play.com). When you buy from somewhere else, check the package, and don't open, when it looks fake! It's easy to look after on the internet... (fake Sennheiser - search)
So I strongly offer the play.com and this product. I recommend, buy it now, and enjoy :-)
