Description

New MP3 players and other portable digital devices all come with headphones. The problem is, their quality may be an afterthought. After all, device manufacturers are into devices, not headphones.

That's why Altec Lansing developed the Upgrader series of headphones - to give consumers a step up when replacing headphones. All Upgrader series headphone models are designed to offer great sound. But more than that, they provide a better, more customised fit for exceptional comfort.

Customer rating: 3 out of 5 stars Alright but broke too quickly for my liking.

These are good for sound quality and anything else apart from the fact that they stopped working a couple of months after getting them. They seemed like they would be very durable when i got them with the material around the wire but something must have given cos the right ear stopped working unless i fidgeted with the end of the wire. If they hadnt broken they were great fitted nicely around my ears and did me fine, for a while.

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Not great

I got these to replace a pair of philips over ear headphones which had an awesome sound but only lasted for 3 months, the difference in sound quality was noticeable within seconds, the altecs have a complete lack of bass and sound extremely tinny, the in-line volume control is too sensitive and not gradual enough so I constantly have to go back to using the Ipod volume control which isn't ideal when on a run. The lack of a clip to attach to clothes is also nonsensical in a pair of sport headphones, I usually have to run the cable up through my t-shirt which again makes the volume control defunct as it's not possible to reach whilst in motion. Can't complain too much for £7.99 but definitely would have felt ripped off if paying any more.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars great for sport.

Bought these as I was fed up with my ipod headphones continually falling out whilst cycling. Stay in the ear well when going over rough terrain, fit well although as a glasses wearer it took a bit of adjustment to get the fit right over the ear.
Good sound although could do with a bit more bass, let enough external noise through to keep you safe in traffic etc.
Have worn them off the bike a few times, and may be a bit cumbersome for some, feels a bit like you are wearing a hearing aid.

All in all for sport, running, cycling etc a good purchase.
