No betterway to access digital music

I've used a number of custom and of the shelf solutions to stream and manage music, but this one is leagues above the others. Best of all is the remote which i believe to be the most important factor, if you cant browse your music easily you will not find it to listen to! Sound quality is also up with the very best CD players when listening to lossless rips such as flac. My only critique was the software, which is now stable at v7.2 with lots of new features. The only real competitor to this product is sonos, which it double the price offers nothing more.
FYI, I run the software my PC in the study, which when set sleep, wakes up when the duet accesses your music. The alternative to a PC would be to use a NAS such as QNAP which is low power and always on.
No more hunting for cd's and free up those dusty shelves of CDs. you know you want it ;-)

A fabulously easy way to listen to your music

I got one of these about a year ago, and having shown it to a couple of friends, they now have it on their Christmas lists. You need a wireless network and you need to either leave the PC on or use a NAS drive, but you can then hook up and listen to your whole music collection, through what is best described as a modern day juke box with your whole record collection in. Great piece of technology and much cheaper than some other alternatives.
I think the Sonos equipment may well produce a better sound and have more flexibility but we are talking £700 v £250 so you would expect that. So it depends on your budget, my budget said lets have this, and I don't regret it. You can now get an app for this for your iPod touch or iPhone which makes it even easier, buy one!

 Simply the best

Great remote, great software and plugins. SqueezeServer, the server software, is free and comes with a software player so you can check that out before you buy anything. You can modify the software too.

I have the player taped to the back of a cupboard. I have two active monitors attached to that. Then everything is done via the remote control, Visitors kind of go quiet as they try to work out how it works.

I use squeezeslave on the server playing through speakers in the bathroom. I have a squeezebox in the bedroom. You can control all of the squeezeboxes using any remote or the web server or even an iPhone.

All I can say about this offer, though, is that the exchange rate must be hitting Play hard!
