Camera is fantastic and the videos are also excellent. These qualities are not in question. However, the battery situation is.

I bought a sony "fast charger" (off play.com for about 12 pounds) which came with four AA 2500mah Ni-MH batteries and thankfully they work a treat. They also only take four hours to charge. I took approximately 250 pictures the other day, whilst messing about with the options and whatnot in between shots before they eventually died on me. Compare this to the Duracell batteries I first put in when I first used it and it is an immense difference. Those rechargeable batteries allayed all my fears.

For those who have bought the camera, i hope that helps. For those thinking of buying this camera do not be put off. The camera is immense and it is only an extra twelve pounds for the batteries and charger.

After much research and reading reviews, I've decided to buy this for myself next month! Just concerned about batteries though. I'm going to purchase rechargable ones off here for it - do I get the 2100mah or 2700mah batteries? Some people say the 2700 ones take over a day to charge up! I'm a bit confused...

This camera is easy to use and am happy with the photos taken so far. I thought was a reasonable price for the features available, however if you take into account the number of batteries you need to run the thing it puts it into a whole new context. I went to a family party and in the space of approximately 5 hours went through 3 sets of batteries. The camera was not in constant use but it seems to just drain the batteries even when switched off. Someone suggested taking the batteries out when not in use but that isn't very practical if you want to take that spare of the moment photo.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Good 'pocket' camera - heavy on fuel though!

Bought this camera as an alternative to taking my Canon 5D to South America (and probably losing it - to the muggers!).

For the money, I'm amazed.

Yes, it eats batteries - but a set of 2700MAh rechargeable AA's soon tamed it.

Metering can be fooled sometimes, so check your shots / re-meter elsewhere (to avoid bleached out backgrounds).

Focus can be a tad 'soft' in places too (dependant upon lighting / contrast in scene).

On-board 'stitching' is very nice - and generally works VERY well - occasionally it 'botches' it though.

Other 'scene' modes also very good / useful

Video quality is also Very Good.

In hindsight, for comparitively little outlay, you get:

Great shots
Great 'stitched' panoramas (although shame it does not save individual frames for 'home' corrective work).
Great video

and it fits fairly well in your pocket!

I took about 900 photos and about 80 videos over 2 weeks using this camera - and 90% satisfied with those results.

ordered this camera sunday and received on tuesday morning. of all the digital cameras i have had in the past this has to be the best i have owned. the pictures come out so clear best i have ever seen. this camera should cost loads more so for the £109 this is a very good bargain.
