The SD and SDHC memory card is a highly secure stamp-sized flash memory card, which can be used in a variety of digital products: digital music players, cellular phones, handheld PCs, digital cameras, digital video camcorders, smart phones, car navigation systems and electronic books.

To support the higher capacity needs, SD cards are now requiring a different design. The new SD 2.0 specifications - which supports 4GB and up - is called Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC). The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SDHC cards and their SDHC host products.

Cards address data (read and write) at numerous speeds. Many factors impede this performance. SDHC guarantees a minimum read and write speed necessary to handle recording high quality video and audio. The maximum card speed may vary, but you can always depend on SDHC cards to meet your SDHC host product's high quality performance requirements.

Because SDHC works differently (supports the new higher capacity cards) this new card format is not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.

Great card - but not compatible with Canon IXUS 50

Great card if you have a newer type of digital camera.
Older cameras, like the Canon IXUS 50 (5 mega pixel) cannot take this high capacity card. So please bear this in mind before purchasing.
Apart from that. This is a fantastic card.

Just to clear up what every person has rote on all of the sd card reviews.

As of 25th of March 2009, when you perform your wii system update, you will then be able to use EVERY SDHC Card upto 32gb.

I'm now going to order this for my wii and dsi. Should be plenty big enough!

 Great price, great capacity but......

I seem to have problems with it corrupting (or not storing correctly) photos taken with my Fujifilm camera. Maybe I should've gone for more with a faster speed - The Extreme III maybe.

Yes it certainly is, I got mine last week for my Canon A550 Power Shot and it gives me now 68 minutes of 30fps video and 4082 large pictures at 3072x2304 on the fine setting. That's got to be the best value around don't you think.

Great card! working 100% fine with my Nikon D80...

Great card! working 100% fine with my Nikon D80. It is not super super fast... but it is quite fast than other 3rd party or low cost cards.

No issues taking pictures. No Errors.

You might need to upgrade your card reader. I am using direct cable from my camera to PC.

Will recomm.
