It works when you put the card in the right way round

I only bought this because it was offered half price with a memory card, otherwise I would have got by without one.
I've knocked a star off the rating because mine isn't quite like the one in the picture in that there are no markings on it at all. Being new to card readers, it wasn't obvious to me which way the card went in. I worked it out by peering down into the slot to see the contacts.
When I plugged this into my USB port, initially with no card in it, XP quickly identified it, loaded the necessary drivers and presented me with an extra hard disk in explorer. When I clicked on this I got a message asking me to insert a disk in the drive. So far so good. In went the card and up came the data, just as if I'd pushed in an 8Gb floppy. Data transfer worked perfectly in both directions at USB 2.0 speed. A red light came on to tell me the card was in properly and flashed while data was moving.
Apart from the missing markings, this is a useful little gadget. I no longer have to use my media player to read data off a PC. That convenience is worth the £3-99p I paid for it.
Works in ps3

Originally bought this for my pc, plugged it in the usb slot on the ps3 and it recognises the card reader as a usb device (sd card reader) in photo, music and video sections in main menu. Great item!!!
Perfect

As I am new to the world of SD cards and the like, I didn't need anything complicated and expensive - this fitted the bill perfectly. It does what it exactly what it says and more, transferring images and video is quick and easy - just plug in and you're away!
Thanks once again Play.com!
