Amazing value and quality machine. HDMI , Component and even RGB outputs produce amazing colour and fine definition.
I got this for my mother for christmas and have only just set it up for her. The playback quality seems good and the unit is nice and sleek but the clock never shows on the front of the player, is this correct? When I go into set up the clock shows the correct time but never on the front of the player. Have I done something wrong or is the player defective...help.
Excellent machine, good picture quality and the menus are uncomplicated and pretty intuitive. Connected via HDMI to my 720p Toshiba LCD 37" and I'm impressed, although I'm not convinced that the "upscaling" makes much difference, picture appears a bit sharper but also a bit more grainy,
Oh for the previous reviewer, yes the clock shows on the front when it's in standby mode. There's a "power save" option in the menus, this may need to be set to "off" for the clock to display.
This is a really useful recorder with Freeview. You can tape what you want and delete what you don't (but delete unwanted stuff before you 'finalise'!).
Great way to record from Freeview.
The downsides - and I don't know if they all work this way - but it's really slow to turn on/warm up and the fact that you have to format the DVD's before you can record on them can be time consuming, so you have to plan ahead when you want to record anything as this can take a minute or two to do.
One last comment - don't forget to 'finalise' the full disc or it won't play on other DVD Players.
As long as you're organised enough to do these things in good time, it's a great recorder to have.
Nice quality copies and that will save you buying shop versions!
A bit of a faff, but once you're used to it it's great!
