 Greatest Gadget Ever...

I got my 32gb Ipod touch on Monday and already I don't know how I did without it. From simple things like checking the weather for the next five days to entering to do lists and calendar entries this thing really has it all.

I have managed to sync the Email widget to Hotmail, there is a 'How-To' on youtube, which you can review straight from the Ipod touch. Its very easy to set up as well.

I booked a hotel online, found out where it was on Google Maps (and bookmarked the position), and then entered all of the details into the Calendar, whilst listening to my own music, all from the comfort of the pub. Granted, I know this could be done on a laptop but once done I can put this in my pocket. It literally just works from the off.

There are a couple of niggles, but nothing major. First annoying thing is the lack of ability to subscribe to podcasts directly from the portable Itunes but potentially this may be sorted in one of the future updates.

The Safari browser does not handle Flash yet, which means certain websites cannot be viewed correctly.

It can be difficult to adjust the volume when you're on the move.

I do miss the Radio from my old MP3 player. If there was a way of embedding Windows Media player into it then this would be absolutely perfect. I'm sure someone will come up with something...

As I said, these are minor niggles... this really is the future of the internet and mobile communications and I would strongly recommend getting one.

 Is good but disappointing

Just having bought this on Tuesday i've been playing around with it, and have been very pleased but disappointed too
It is great for all the basic tasks such as playing music, viewing photos, watching videos, getting my mail etc. but the things that have annoyed me have left me feeling disappointed with this ipod.
i use a mac computer so very used to apple's software and just feel like they've left some basic features out
for example safari can't play flash videos - making quite a few websites like bbc news obsolete for videos
also the calendar has no built in to-do list like ical does, which the ipod is supposed to synchronise with.
The alarm, only seems to play stupid noises instead of setting off a playlist like all the other previous ipods have done. playlists are still very basic with only editing being enabled on the 'to-go' playlist, however for the rest of the apps there is a full qwerty keyboard, so i am yet to see why they haven't put full playlist editing into there software. playlists can't be downloaded from the onboard itunes store. The google map feature, still can't find where i am, im not sure if this feature is only supposed to be available on the iphone though and they just havent taken it off of the touch. the calendars input is very simple with just event in put where as in ical you can put birthday entries, to-do's, reminders, etc. etc. The only add-on apps also only seem to be web-apps, which aren't downloadable so as soon as i'm not connected to wifi i lose those and most really don't need to be just simply online, they could quite easily be stored on the ipod itself and run from there. I think apple needs to redo the software so the touch is a lot more dynamic and has a lot more functions especially for the price of £329 it just left me feeling like it is a bit over rated. the capacity and size is brilliant, but Apple seems to have short cutted on there software in my opinion, compared to the rest of their products which is leaving me quite disappointed as i am a great apple lover - i converted from PC's a few years back now and would never go back again but i don't feel this is up to apple standard.

 The best gift EVER

My new ipod touch was a gift and the best ever, i love it. This is my first ipod and its fantastic fun to play with. The sound is perfect, picture fantastic. I have had no problem using wi-fi. However i have found it hard to use itunes and to get music and films onto the ipod, but maybe thats just me. Its a little annoying that you can only be connected to one itunes libary wich means your restricted to using the same comp all the times. Other than that its so much fun, exspecailly some of the games you can download and so far ive only downloaded the free games!!!!

I dint buy my ipod from play.com but apple can do no wrong in terms of music and video players, every other company is trying to catch up and the ipod has them beat all the time, yeah sometimes it can be annoying bout things on itunes but its doesnt matter its all about the advanced technology the player has to offer, i dont know any other player that has an accelerometer, i dont think i will ever have any other player in my collection.
