Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-ray Player

It took me a while to get over the demise of HD DVD having been one of those who thought it would win the format war with Blu Ray. Anyway having got my act together it was time to get with the program and update my ageing DVD collection to Blu ray and find something to play them on.

The Samsung came highly recommended by my AV buddies and they were right. A year ago a machine of this spec would have over £500. Profile 1.1 straight out of the box and upgradeable to profile 2.0 with an internet update, nice. It delivers great picture quality and imaging is razor edge sharp both on Hi Def discs and upscaled DVD.

The menus are user friendly and the remote nicely ergonomic to use. I would advise taking your time to set the machine up correctly because as with many large screen TV,s, it may not suit your individual taste straight out of the box. The 1500 comes with the default resolution set at 576P rather than 1080P so sort this out first otherwise your Hi Def images will have a soft jagged look about them.

The 1500 styling is also razor sharp with its blacker than black ultra slim profile ensuring it will look the part with your piano glass finished HDTV. All in all a very nice BD player indeed.

I have had this player for 2 weeks now,no problems at all. Downloaded latest firmware through(2.0 Profile) ethernet took a few times to connect . Took about 40 mins to download.Back to the player this is a beauty,stylish and in piano black which matches all my gadgets lovely. loading times pretty fast to what my tosh hd player was that was slow!!!Picture quality is fantastic it is like looking at a painting.colors vivid sharp and detailed.Played about 12 bds had no problems even played spider man 2 with out a hitch as some have been having problems with.This has got to be a steal if you are looking to go bluray. Blu ray Is the way . (Would have gave it 10 stars but it will not let me)

Just bought this player and i upgraded the player with the latest firmware update and it is now able to play the div x format what a machine. I can highly reccomend this to anyone

Gone are the days that sony where the best you could buy but now its samsung the south korean's have done it again with this blu-ray im very happy with mine and i have two samsung lcd tvs hi-def that im happy with to so if you want the best for a low price get samsung

Samsung are streets ahead with there products. I got this player about 2 weeks ago and linked it upto my samsung 1080p lcd and i was shocked at the piture and sound as it was awsome. The only down size is that u cann't make it muti region.
