Samsung Series 4 32 inch LE32A436 HD Ready Freeview Widescreen LCD TV

Origionally wanted the Sony Bravia, but it was sold out so looked through all the LCD's at the same price as this one on Play.com, and settled for the Samsung, having some experience with the company in a mobile phone capacity I know this is something that they do well.

First off, Play.com is probably where I buy most of my eletrical goods, due to excellent postage times and great value, speant a small fortune with this company and glad of it!

The Television looks sublime, shiney black surroundings, slick stand, and great resolution. Makes me wish I had Sky HD so i could use up the third HDMI port.

In terms of Gaming, Xbox 360 games look brilliant once you've set them up properly. Left 4 dead, COD5 two of the ones I've been playing on it. COD5 has never ever looked better than in HD.

In terms of DVD's and films, I'm a huge DVD fan, main reason why I shop with Play.com, Most films look brilliant, watched Iron man on it lastnight and was blown away by the quality of the viewing experience, this was played using my Xbox 360.

It's been pointed out previously however that the television is Sluggish at best to respond to commands from the remote, but them it's really a minor annoyance when kept in context with the fact that its great looking, great to watch, and brilliant Value.

Overall if i could give it an out of 10 rating, this would be on a safe 8.5 I'd say probably one of the best out of its equals at this price.

While I do not own this television, I do sell it at the store I work at. And as usual, it holds it's own against the competition with a brilliant picture.

To the other reviewer - this television is not full HD 1080p. It is 720p. What you have turned on is the 1080 input support - this is where if a 1080p signal is being sent to a 720p television, it downscales it to the resolution it can handle. this is pretty good, considering the equivalent Sony 32" does not have this feature at all.

also, people need to bear in mind that this set has a glossy finish.

Got this TV delivered last week (swift delivery by the way) and after using it for a week I'll give you my impressions.

Picture: I'm using it primarily for a gaming monitor for my 360, and when hooked up via VGA it looks absolutely stunning after playing around with colour, contrast etc. If you are looking at getting this for use with a 360 and only have a component cable, I would strongly recommend getting a VGA cable; the picture is a LOT sharper. Haven't noticed any ghosting yet either.
When using the xbox HD-DVD addon the picture is sublime! Please bear in mind though that this set doesn't support 1080p, however at this size (32") you really will be hard pressed to see a difference between 720p (this tv) and 1080p. You probably will do in the 37"+ range though.

On freeview the picture is pretty good, but as you would expect getting SD broadcasts on a HD TV they aren't going to look the best. Haven't tried with a sky or a sky HD box yet, but I'm sure the latter would look fantastic. Only quirk I have with the freeview is that it isn't as fast (changing channels, browsing through guide, etc) as the Panasonic 42" I've got downstairs - however I'm not sure whether the speed on this Sammy is the norm and that the Panasonic is abnormally fast *shrugs*

Sound: Speakers seem to be really good for a TV set, was quite impressed. However I'm using the optical output on the back and hooking it up to my 5.1 so can't comment any further on this. (Am using a optical switch so its easier to switch between the 360 and tv - prevents damage to cables from constantly plugging and unplugging)

Hmm what else is there...looks? Pictures on here don't really do it any justice; its a very sleek and elegant design with a fantastic glossy black finish. The TV can swivel on it's stand as well if you're wondering.

One more thing, it you're looking to wall mount it, I just measured the distance between the mounting holes and they are 200mm, so it will be VESA 200 x 200!

Overall a fantastic TV and I can't really can't fault it at all, just get it :-D

I use to own a little 17" alba tv but after playing on my mates ps3 on his 32" sony bravia i got the hd bug and had to buy my own one. After reading several reviews this tv seemed to be able to compete with the big boys, panasonic's viera and sony's bravia, and at the price i took the gamble. When it arrived special delivery, bright and early the next morn i was delighted, expecting it to take a good couple of days. After unpackaging it, i proceeded to set it up, which took all of 5 minutes. I plugged my ps3 into one of the 3 hdmi ports and was set to go. My ps3 read this samsung's max resolution at 1080p which is a bonus and it must be true as it read a friends tv at 1080i, which is the resolution of his tv. The picture quality is superb, and with an 'entertainment mode' which has 3 options, game, cinema and sports it sets everything just right for the perfect picture. There is also an energy saving mode which is good for today's energy conscious climate. In game mode, my ps3 looks staggering and i cant fault it at all! I have yet to watch a blu ray but, my extended version of 'lord of the rings, return of the king' looked flawless in cinema mode, now i cant wait for my 3 for 2 blu ray's to arrive from play. The built in freeview works really well and i havnt had any problems with it at all. Overall at this price this tv is a snatch and i'd advise anyone to buy it over the bravia and the viera, both of which i have seen in action, and as an extra bonus..... It comes with its own special cleaning cloth. Haha.

This tv is amazing, i bought my girlfriend one from play (it arrived really fast!) for christmas and now im jealous that her tv is better than mine! Its a must buy. Im going to buy myself one when payday arrives!
