I have had this just 5 days now and this is a really excellent little camera. I needed something that was small but had the quality. The body is very well made, the screen is huge and very bright. The camera handles 12Mpix easily (not slow). It also does rapid shoot at 3Mp and when you press the shutter it sounds like the start of "Girls on Film" by Duran Duran (oh dear age showing).
The dynamic range is great giving good detail in shadow and bright sun at the same time. The functions are very easy to master; I only had to refer to the manual a couple of times. Most of it is intuitive and I have never owned a Fuji before so that says something. I bought the kit with 4Mb disk, spare battery and a case which I was pleased I did. You'll never stop polishing the screen though, fingerprints show up easily. Startup to shoot is quick. The face detection is good too. I've swapped batteries after about 100 pics (ish) so not too bad. Flash is quick to recharge. I keep forgetting that the flash on these little compacts don't go as far as my larger Nikon, but it keeps up with similar products nicely.
Wide angle is wider than my standard Nikon coolpix 8700 and with an excellent 5X zoom its a very handy and capable cam.
