Again another fantasic order from Play.com. Brought to go along with my Bravia I ordered only a few days before.

Delivery of the item again was to plays excerlent standards ordered and the delivery turned up 48 hours later special delivery.

I say hidden gem because was not advertised with the rest of the sony home cinema sets where the previous version is shown to £10 more.

Great thing abut this system is the yes it has OPTICAL so you can plug your PS3, Sky and get 5.1 Sound.

I have watched one film the upscaling seem's to be brill and the power of the sound and crispness is amazing. Come with it's own mic and configs teh speakers for you.

REMEMBER TO ORDER A HDMI CABLE OR SCART if you don't have one already.

An excellent powerful system for a brilliant price

I've had this system for a while now, and it's just excellent, the only downside is when you first see the lack of connections on the back...but once you figure out that you don't actually need phono in (as there is a jack input on the front (which is more or less the same, plus you can find cheap phono to jack leads in most places) you have HDMI (which works as the main connection point (If you have a TV with HDMI input...I don't just yet...but my uncle does and I set his up) His now plays whatever sound is coming through from the TV...and if a HDMI source is plugged into the TV it will act asa pass through, which is great, no more worrying about multiple leads (like we used to have to do with Scart's...(always hated scarts...though I'm still using them :(...old tv)

anyway, back on to the system, there is also an Optical input, which is the best way to hook up your PS3 or XBOX 360 (I have both) it's quite easy just switching between 360 and the PS3 by just changing the lead over from console to console...if you don't want to keep doing that then you may want to look into buying an optical switch (think they are on here, and not that expensive either) sound quality is amazing, when I first heard my Uncles system I thought...that must have cost over £300...when I got home and checked I was amazed to see it was only around £150
(we had "Predator" playing as a tester...the walls and floor shook it was brilliant :D)

Bass is also just something you have to experience for yourself...you would be glad if you had spent over £300 for the bass alone...it's just so rich and deep...you can turn it up or down (I have mine set to (-6db) I know that sounds blasphemous, but trust me...I don't think my neighbours could take it at the full +6db (which is a bit too powerful for my room, I've had a it a few times in the day time when I know people are out...wish I could have it that loud all the time :D) surround is excellent, as you'd expect, and playing games like COD:WAW, and Battlefield:Bad Company is just so much fun, especially when hearing the enemies shouting behind you, and beside you...even hearing their footsteps...

all I can say is buy buy buy (it also upscales DVD's to 1080p...so if you can't afford a blu ray player at this time, and own a 1080p TV this is the perfect system for you...and it's nice and cheap...:D

Top 100 PC Reviewer

First of all to the reviewer before me who wanted to know how to connect a 360 to the Home Cinema, I have mine connected with the component to my Samsung 32" HDTV (I don't have one of the newer 360s with HDMI YET) and the optical from the 360 to the Home Cinema - Works like a DREAM. I will never go back to normal speakers - I was playing on xbox live with a friend and he said to me "I'm coming up behind you" and then I heard him walking up behind me! It gave me a shock as I thought someone was behind me!

When I want to watch TV I just swap the optical from the 360 to the TV.

For Music: The bass is amazing! It shakes my room!

The speakers are very easy to connect and the machine is easy to set up.

Upscaling works brilliantly as well!

It even comes with a little microphone that you place where your head will be and it plays sounds and works out how loud each speaker should be compared to the distance away from you.

 Great buy

 The one and only

After searching the web for a surround sound system, this 1 just kept popping up as the best value for money.
I only have a small living room so I was looking for a sound bar or a 2.1 as I didn't want messy wires everywhere, but thankfully that foolish idea went and I invested in this system and I have had it for about 3 weeks now and will never watch Sky HD, DVD's or play xbox without a 5.1 surround sound system, it is unbelievable.
Just think about Transformers the movie and the helicopter at the start is flying all around you or watching live football the crowd chats echoing around the room, its an amazing feeling.
Its very easy to install and the wires are easy to hide.
This system for monetary value is the best out there literally searched the web for 2 weeks looking for the best systems and this came top not only for value but most importantly QUALITY. 1000W output sends a rumble through the floor boards when your watching action or horror movies cranked up, its that good.
So to summarise this system is the best out there, so don't look any further than this excellent piece of equipment right here....
