I've only had this a short while so can't comment on its longevity. However, so far I am very impressed both with the rare quality of sound - wonderful bass and not in the slightest bit tinny. (I have been so disappointed with other small speakers in this respect.)

I have used it with an 8GB Wharfedale MP3 Player and a 4GB Sansa Fuze Multimedia... Player both via the USB connector and the AUX input. The important thing to remember is that via the USB, the Speaker is in control; via the AUX, the Player is in control. It really is that simple.

So, as others have said, via the USB it will play MP3 files in the sequence it chooses (I understand this is in the order they were loaded onto the Player) and skip other formats (though I haven't experienced any delay yet while it does this and I have hundreds of WMA files on my Wharfedale separated into many folders). Also, the sound can be increased much higher using the USB connection - though the Player volume control can be used in conjunction with that of the Speaker.

Connecting via the AUX is exactly the same as using head/earphones. (You need a cable with 2 male jacks 3.5mm x 3.5mm for my Players - check your headphone socket on your Player it may be 2.5mm so get a 3.5mm x 2.5mm - I use a retractable one.) You choose what is played by holding the Player and making your selections as you would with these. If your Player has the features of mine then you can choose any folder and any sequence. I can't see why others have a problem with this - when you've made your choice just put the Player down and enjoy! Remember, the purpose of having the Speaker is to emit the sound out into the room instead of down ones ears! The icing on the cake is, of course, that via the AUX you are not restricted to just playing MP3 files. I am currently playing my WMA files - which is where I came in.
