From the world leaders in DAB radio comes Siesta - an affordable and stylish way to wake up to the choice and quality of DAB digital radio. Siesta is available in black or white and whatever finish you choose you can be sure it has been custom engineered with the environment in mind.

If you haven't experienced DAB digital radio yet, you're in for a treat. Select stations by name: check out news, results, track titles and more on the scrolling text display; tune at the touch of a button; and listen in crisp, clear digital-quality sound. And there's more listening choice on DAB too, in many areas up to twice as many stations compared with FM.

The Siesta is a smashing little clock radio alarm that sounds great with FM or DAB signals, even though the aerial is a simple wire type the radio found a high number of stations in my area which is a relatively weak signal location.

It has an informative display that is easy to read and can be set to display a wide variety of information. As the ambient light drops the Siesta dims the display to the point of it not being intrusive but still very readable once it is dark. Only problem i can think of is if you wake up to the radio it will use the last station you listened to, to get round this just select a station off FM if it bothers you but me personally it isn't an issue.

The unit is upgradeable via USB when DAB+ comes out in the UK and in standby it uses less than 1w so it is not only cheap to run it is reasonably future proof as well.

The Siesta uses an external brick type power supply but it is one of the smallest i have ever seen and the end that plugs in to the radio locks in securely.

To sum up there is not a great deal to dislike about the siesta, not only does it do what it says on the tin, it does it in style.

not bright enough in the dark

Top 100 Electronics Reviewer

as the previous review have stated this is some quality kit the FM radio picks up a tonne of stations and the RDS names the broadcaster, the DAB and looks of the unit is superb

If you flick around the DAB, you get a birdsongs channel.

On other websites the only complaint i've seen other than 'a not bright enough screen' is that you

"cannot set the alarm to play the radio whilst on sleep mode"

To get around this set two alarms
one at 6.30am set as 'DAB' thus music plays (you don't even have to roll over to press 'sleep' mode),
then set the second alarm at 7am (when you want to get up) to 'tone', thus you can listen to music until the tone cuts in at 7am

PERFECT

Pure sort out the un-visable clock in the dark, and this would be awesome

My title says what I feel about this lovely system. It does what it says on the tin and it does it well. I have had real issues in the past with radio alarm clocks that light up your entire room like a space ship has landed and causing sleepless nights. This is perfect you can see it no problem in the dark, but it is not bright at all.
Just plug it in choose energy saving and your up and running, couldnt ask for anything easier.
Already buying another one as a gift for my father.

 Great little piece of kit

Ive never really used a clock radio, but when i decided to get one, i thought id go for quality. This is a great alarm clock and better than my standard dab radio to boot. Great quality and sound, i love it.

I have no trouble seeing the time at night or during the day, even on the lowest brightness so i dont kno where the others are coming from!
