Bought this camera as a cheap one that i could throw in my rucksack when mountainbiking etc. Read the other reviews and thought i was going to get a cheap camera that took OK pictures, but i was wrong. This weekend i took about 30 photos, of which about half went straight in the bin when i loaded then onto the computer. This camera has serious exposure issues and i would describe the focusing as 'random'. Dont know if my camera is just the runt of the litter, but i wouldnt recommend this model. Wish i had spent another £20 and got a make with a bit of a better reputation.

A nice camera - when it works! This model has a known fault (shame I did not know it before I bought it) that causes the camera to display 'Warning, battery exhausted'. My advice, avoid, I am sending the second one back tomorrow.

Just a tip.. when reading camera reviews I think many potential buyers ponder:

Colour accuracy and saturation
Purple fringing and blurry/dark corners or barreling in pics
Sharpness of pictures
Range of flash
Severity of noise (blotchiness) in poorly lit situations without flash
Performance: how fast it can (re-)take pictures

as well as ease of use and battery life which has been covered.

I can't see the point of so-called blink detection if all it does is flag the bad picture you've already taken as blinking awful. You could just look for yourself.

Features of this camera look fine and low megapixel count encouraging (search 'megapixel myth') but I'm still wondering how the resulting pictures compare.

To who ever writes a review next or whatever ,

When i put my photos on the compueter and delete them from camera , they are called gedc0001 , gedc0002 etc

And then next time i take photos and put them on it starts at 1 again

How can i prevent this ?

Bought this camera to originally replace an old 2 megapixel and was really surprised at the price for a 7.0. Its picture quality is amazing and theres lots of nice little features to adapt it to whatever your photographing. I normally take pictures of the pets and family around the house and i do recommend turning the flash off as leaving it on can make pictures inside look dark (strangely) but all in all, a great camera thats really easy to use at a price thats very good. =D

I wasn't sure wether to go ahead and purchase this camera as i thought at the price it would feel cheap, look cheap and take cheap looking photos. I'm glad i did finally purchase it as the feel and look of the camera is very good, the menu system is very easy to use and it takes okay looking photos. For the price the photo quality is good. This is my first digital camera and even if i only use it for one year it'll be great value. The only negative side is a reported problem with the battery level indicator on some cameras, you put in brand new batteries and it shows up as 'batteries exhausted'. This problem is mentioned on the website and has an update for the operating system for the camera to rectify this on their website.

A wonderful little camera, which is big on features. It simple to use and has been performing very well in a range of conditions. I'm impressed at how well the pictures come out and the features make light work of the various pictures that I've been taking and the optical zoom is easy to use. Well worth the £49.99 I paid. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a small camera at a good price.

Awesome device, can't fault it. The design is elegant, smart surfaces and easy to use buttons (even for those with larger hands). Don't be put off by the fact that GE are pretty much unheard off when it comes to camera's, all it means is you get more for your money due to how well known brands can charge much more for the same technologies.

LCD screen clarity is great, all the neccessary features are present and the face detection is excellent. And ofcourse the most improtant thing is that with its 7 megapixels it takes great photo's. Video recording is also available so i would definately recommened for those looking for a good upgrade that will not break the bank.

I bought this for going on holiday and despite the pitiful internal memory (best to buy sd card) it worked really well. the battery needs replacing fairly often if you use a lot of the functions continuously but for the price you get a lot of options and functions at the same time being easy to use.
