Megapixels:
A megapixel (one million pixels) is a unit of image-sensing capacity in a digital camera. A pixel - shorthand for "picture element" - is the basic unit of programmable color on a computer display or in a computer image. In general, the more megapixels in a camera, the better the resolution when making larger prints.

diagram

Optical Zoom:
When the button is pushed to zoom in or out, physical lens elements move inside the camera to achieve the desired effect. Optical zoom lenses actually "move" you closer to the subject of the photograph. The higher the optical zoom rating on a camera, the farther away you can be to take a photograph and still get a clear, close-up image.

diagram

LCD Screen:
Digital cameras use the LCD screen as a viewfinder by providing a live video feed of the scene to be captured. The LCDs normally measure between 1.5" and 2.5" diagonally (our LCDs measure 2.5 to 3 inches).

Standard on many of our cameras, Auto Adjust Brightness automatically adjusts the camera's LCD viewing screen to the existing lighting conditions. No more struggling to see the LCD in bright sunlight; the camera will adjust it so you can frame your picture properly.

diagram

Image Stabilisation:
Image Stabilization automatically overcomes shaking or blurring caused by accidental hand movement, helping you take clearer, sharper pictures.

diagram

Face Detection
The camera detects faces in a scene and then automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for them. This technology helps when taking pictures of large groups, when a person is in the distance or when the subject moves into the frame.

diagram

Smile:
The camera's sensor detects when subjects are smiling and releases the shutter automatically when the smiles reach their peek. No more battling shutter lag times to get the perfect picture.

diagram

Blink Detection:
If subjects blink as a photo is snapped, the camera alerts the user afterwards. This allows the photo to be immediately retaken.

diagram

High ISO
ISO denotes how sensitive the image sensor is to the amount of light present. The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the image sensor, which means improved ability to take pictures in low-light situations.

In-Camera Panorama Stitching
Allows for the creation of ultra-wide panoramic shots. Wide-view photos are produced by stitching three images into a single panoramic picture, providing an image that is wider than would be possible with a standard lens.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Good Camera, but some issues with it

I am currently studying childcare and having to build up a folio of work I needed a camera and I thought this would be an excellent camera, well overall its a very good camera, Love the quality of the photos, the size of the photos, size of the screen, the menu is very easy to use and understand.

But there are some faults with the camera, they say it removes red eyes, this camera does not remove red eyes, so my folio will have a few red eyes in it. And it does eat up batteries quite quickly, but that was with my last camera as well.

Overall I do recommend this camera but the red eyes made this 4 stars and not 5 stars

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Hmmmmm

I got this camera before going on a 2 week holiday. I took plenty of batteries. At first i was very pleased with it. Took great photo's and had some really nice features. But soon the first set of batteries run out (the ones supplied with the camera) so i put rechargeable ones in and it tells me they are run out. I tried them in many other appliances and they work fine. I don't know if it is just mine but im not getting a new one.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Fantastic

This little camera has surpassed all my expectations for the price, I expected it to arrive and look tacky and have rubbish response times. Since it arrived iv been running round the house like a loon taking pictures of everything and anything. Photo with the flash on takes around 1sec to take so no hanging around! Obviously with only 32mb internal memory an SDcard is required.
Purchased to take on a lads holiday to zante should be a fantastic buy.
