An excellent machine. Simple to use and navigate through the on screen menu options.

Even a good machine does have its failing the performance of the VHS VCR is a little lacking compared with JVC 6 head machines of 2000 vintage. Toshiba would have been better including 6 heads as standard considering the VCR market is all but dead and machine costs almost nought, particularly for the individuals who have VHS/S-VHS libraries they want to transfer to DVD.

Perhaps the next generation machine evolution from this module could include this feature along with a 250 gig hard drive.

Upscaling to 1080i or P doesn't always produce superior pictures 720i & P sometimes gives a more superior picture.

Well worth the money. Only problem had to wait 10 days for delivery from Play, eventhough they quoted in stock when the order was placed, as this is a well sort after machine.

  Great Versatile Machine

Very capable machine. Obviously it is taking time to get used to the various operating modes. Particularly like the DV (Firewire) input. Works a treat with my Canon MV960. Editing is very easy. It gives you two attempts to confirm any deletions. But make a 'playlist' first which can be edited whilst keeping the original recording. Dubbing can be done in any direction. A downside is that if you are dubbing and you have a timer recording scheduled the dubbing will stop. It also upscales the HDD and DVD via HDMI. And, one less box under the telly!
