Sennheiser PMX 60 Backband Headphones

Just looked at my order history and it would seem that I've had these for over 4 years!

In that time the sturdy build and high quality components have ensured that they've lasted well, I've only had to replace the ear pads and these are are only a couple of quid for a half dozen.

The sound quality is excellent when indoors but because of the 'open' design, background noise can intrude slightly when on the bus/train/walking - but this is only a minor gripe.

I decided to try this style as the in-ear type give me ear ache, and any lingering doubts about using them day-to-day soon disappeared as they are very light and comfortable to wear.

Overall a great product as they strike a good balance beween the portability of the in-ear types and the sound quality you get with the full-on 'closed' types.

There is nothing glitzy about these pair of headphones. Compared to a similiar pair of Sony's that Ive had for around 15 years, these dont provide the same quality of sound. But comparing these to a mid-range Sony product probably isnt that fair. On the positive side there isnt a great deal of difference between these and my old pair. Most people probably wont notice the difference.

Having said that however, they are a solid workmen like piece of equipment, that does allow you to aptly hear the music, game sound or other audio you want to with them.

They fit comfortably around the head and rest perfectly around my ears. I have an average sized head, even if Ive been called a big-head before! ;)

The only issue I have with these as well as the slightly inferior sound, is the shortness of the cable. A 50% longer cable would have made all the difference. So thats why Ive taken 1/2 point off for each.

Yet, I am very pleased with this purchase, as the price of 10pounds is value for money and it does what the product description says well enough.

For the price you cannot go wrong. 10 pounds including shipping. I have owned sony headphones for many years in the similar price range. The sound quality is so much better. Listening to same songs I can hear instruments that I never heard before. Quality and comfort are very good. Only slight downside is that others can hear what you are listening too, but that doesn't bother me at all.
Great for day to day use, laptop, phone, ipod, gym etc..

its hard to believe these are only 10 pounds comfort sound are brill okay these are cheap but these are just as good as my senns that i paid 49.99 they are a must....

Brought these headphones specifically for the gym as the usual earphones were always falling out.

Stayed in place from being on the staitmaster to sprinting on the treadmill!

V.Good sound, blocked out any other noise.

Only downsdie (for me) was they're not as compact as other headphones (i.e. carrying them around in the gym or hoping they don't get crushed in your bag.

Other than that, v.good value for money

Maybe I just have the right size head, but these fit me perfectly. Sound is brilliant (once used for a few hours, give them time people!). Only drawback is wearing sunglasses can take a while to adjust to. Otherwise perfect for me.

Very good sound, Probably the best bass I've ever heard from a pair of headphones. However they arn't the most comfortable of things to wear and arn't ajustable in the slightest.

I have had these head phones for over a year and a half, & i'm thrilled. I have always worn neck band head phones as my ears never seem to accept in-ear phones.

I wear them underneath my bike helmet as the straps go round yours ears so that they do not push the drivers right into your ears.

I'm not to concerened about the other reviewers claiming about noise leakage as I cycle along side a dual carriage.

If your looking for cheap headphones which produce a nice sound go for these.

I bought these headphones after having great experience with an old pair of neckband headphones from Sony about 5 years ago. Things can only get better, right?

Wrong, in short. I bought these headphones and was really not too happy with the overall 'hugeness' of the sound, of lack thereof. I rummaged around and dug out my old Sony MDR-G52's, and eventhough they're now lacking in ear cushioning foam, they sound far, far superior to this Sennheiser unit. The construction on the Sony headphones is still plastic, but more solid feeling. The earpieces also slightly heavier and thicker, hinting at the presence of bigger drivers, and when it comes to any speaker of any size, that's generally a good sign.

Sennheiser bass response is lacking, and they slightly pull away from the ears, leading to a lot of sound spill. As a whole, I don't have much good to say about them compared to my 6 or 7 year old Sony headpones. Even the jack is not of a high quality. As a first time Sennheiser customer, I expected more. Also worthy of note, these Sennheiser headphones can't handle an iPod on full volume without distorting.

I'll be trying to buy a new equivalent pair of Sony neckband headphones in the very near future and returning this Sennheiser pair.

Best set of headphones ive ever bought. Fantastic sound quality, lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear. For £17 these are an absolute bargain.
