 Good value

These headphones are good value but not the best sound available for the money. Having said that, the sound is good - much better than the standard phones you get with your Ipod for instance. At c.£18 you cannot complain at all.

The build quality is good, solid buds, a very nice rope-like cord which doesn't twist and is very strong. In this respect they are better than many phones costing 3x as much.

Sound wise they are average-to-good. The top end is clear, there is a slight muddiness in the upper midrange, the bass is pretty good but not awesomely deep.

Compared to the Creative EP360 which are a bit cheaper I find the build a touch better, especially the cabling; the bass is noticeabley not as deep; the airiness is a touch better; the emotion not as well carried. But then the Creatives (which I believe to be an exact copy of the Senheisser CX300s - my ears cannot tell a difference and they look identical) tend to break in one ear after about a month.

 Good while they last

Great sound, comfortable fitting, but after a month the sound in one headphone went. So obviously listening to music through one headphone isn't great.

comfy fit nice in the ears.....

I have owned a lot of earphones and headphones in the past. Even a pair of shure in-ear phones. And i must say that these are fantastic! Obviously for the price you arn't going to get perfect sound quality and all the rest, but you do get a decent pair of buds that have amazing build quility, quite good sound, and they stay in your ears. The one thing that i particuarly love about these is the cord. Its not to long, or to short, and the material that it is made from seems to be ultra durable and feels much better than the usual plastic! All in all i would have to say well done to ultimate Ears, and well done to Play for the cheap price.

 Great value, great sound

UPDATE: Ok, so I've now gone through two pairs of these earphones - both had same thing happen - the sound on one of the earbuds keeps cutting out after about 2-3 months. My brother also bought a pair (after I recommended them to him) and the same thing happened after only a few days of use.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Really happy with these, which I bought to replace my Skullcandy Smokin' Buds. The sound quality is better than the Skullcandys and as is the fit. The cord is fantastic - virtually no tangle and feels solid and good quality. My only gripe is that I wish they had an inline volume control like the skullcandys, but that's such a minor detail for such an otherwise high quality product.
