Apple iPod Touch / 8GB / 2nd Gen (Launched Sept 2008)

If you purely want an MP3 player I would suggest something cheaper....maybe an 8GB nano.
However if you want a gadget that doubles as an ipod, then the touch is for you. With built in Wifi you can connect to a router (for free) and browse the internet, go on youtube, access myspace, facebook etc. and even check your email.
Then theres the games, there are lots of free games which are good, but the best ones you will have to pay for, but when you see the quality of them, and your only paying less than £6 thats pretty good in comparison to a PSP or nintendo DS.
I got one of these over a week ago, and its worth ever penny, an amazing piece of kit. the 1 downside is that it does scratch easily on the back, so get a case!

This ipod is the best ipod ever and at such a great price it is truely worth it. You can now listen to music out loud and there are new volume buttons to have it as loud as you want. This ipod touch is a must buy as you have a new technology called genius where it picks too songs to mix to create a perfect playlist just like a DJ. From listening to music, watching videos playing games it is amazing.

I got one of these a few months ago and so have had plenty of time to play arouund with it and see what it does well (or badly)

If you have an iphone, you won't need one of these, however, as a standalone device, there IS still a place for this, amongst it's many functions are:

As an MP3 player at the gym, expecially if I want to train and not get called!)
As a storage device (great for movies whilst donating blood!)
As a gaming device, well, It doesn't cost much to buy somme very good and addictive games for this (I'm playing galaxy on fire as I write this!)

Emailing device
Facebook updating - Again, a very handy utility
Ebaying! - Also very good, my wireless internet runs at about 3.5Mbps on my ipod touch
General internetting - very good, but WHY does nothing support flash?!?!?!

Touch =It IS the best touch interface ever made, got to hand it to Apple there!

Also, up and coming is cut and paste and, mor importantly, BLUETOOTH! so wireless headsets and GPS modules await you!

It's slimmer than the first version.
It's updated with latest software.
It has Volume buttons on the side and has a built in speaker.
Personal DJ function, finds the songs for you that you may like.
Has Nike rock n run function. (nike sensor needed)
Improved and much more polished from the first version, amazing value!

I bought mine a couple of months ago for £165 - It really is an amazing device with so mny features - It's definetly worth the money although if you can afford one with a larger memory such as the 16gb or even the 32gb then there'll serve you much better as you don't realize how many great apps or videos you'll want to put on it in addition to your over flowing music collection
