I have had each of the generation nano's and I have been happy with every single one. The square nano was my favourite out of the lot, it had an excellent battery life and I loved the colour [pink] and I found it much more attractive.
What I really like with the new nanos is the wide range of colours, it was a much harder choice of which colour I should have. I also love the screen, its big for its size on such a small ipod and the colours are great. The shuffle and the switch to the album art is good improvement.
The only problem I had was the battery life, it doesn't seem to last as long as my other nano and I don't use videos.
But to anyone who loves ipod or thinking of getting one I would highly consider one.
