XDE Technology
Toshiba's new XDE technology provides more than just upscaling, by enhancing video and detail closer to the HD experience, XDE technology lets consumers enjoy their existing DVD libraries in a whole new way. Take a look at the XD-E500 Upscaling DVD player and take advantage of this new and exciting technology.

To take picture quality to the next level the XD-E500 uses these video processes to produce three different modes - Sharp, Colour and Contrast - which ensures that the player produces the best possible picture based on the type of content being watched.

Sharp Mode uses Detail Enhancement to create sharper edges and make detail in movies more visible.

Colour Mode combines Intelligent Colour with Detail Enhancement to improve the overall colour balance of the picture, great for wildlife documentaries.

Contrast Mode combines Contrast Enhancement with Detail Enhancement to improve contrast in dark areas whilst maintaining brightness in others, ideal for darker scenes.


1080p
The DVD technology converts a standard 480p signal on a standard DVD to 1080p signal for optimum picture quality on a High Definition Screen, enhancing your viewing experience.


HDMI
A HDMI output allows you to connect to a compatible HD ready TV/ Laptop for true high definition content, as well as multi channel audio. It delivers perfect picture and sound quality. There is no requirement to program your multimedia devices- simply plug in and play.


Dolby Digital
Six totally independent channels of digital sound: stereo front left and right, centre dialogue and stereo rear channels, plus dedicated super woofer channel.


MP3
